Then why don't you ask him for his messenger name and just IM him or call him or write him a letter. Get it out, get it over with, and you'll be free of tension about this.

Anyway, my advice. Don't make such a big deal about it. If you're butthurt that he's off talking and hitting it off good with another girl, then tough. You two need to agree to see eachother, and see eachother exclusively if you expect his attention and love at all times. It's a communication, maturity, and understanding issue. Hell, even if you go on one date it doesn't mean anything. You both should feel able to go out and about with anyone you please until you commit to something.

On that first day, did you return some of the affection towards him that you thought he was showing towards you?

If he tried to be affectionate and you didn't respond, then maybe he thought you weren't interested in him that way, hence him paying more attention to "alice".
