Red Bull & Other Energy Drinks?

red-bull is only banned in france! because its not a french company... its something very silly why is was banned! involving tax and money...
however rumour has become fact, because now u find the story about one person having a heart attack... but but but, 87 people a year die from inhaling flies in the UK...

Are you serious? How?

Any carbonated beverages are bad for you. Some of the more "hardcore" energy drinks do contain questionable ingredients and can cause problems. I think that the passing out though is usually due to dehydration. It has happened to me before and that is what the doctors have told me. Ephedrine has be thought to cause heart problems but the cases of ephedrine related deaths that I have read about were just due to energy drinks/pills but the combination of them and dehydration or alcohol.

It was banned in France because a sports player dropped dead during a game after an investigation linked red bull to his death.

In 2000, the French government decided to ban Red Bull after the brand was linked to the death of an 18-year-old Irish athlete. The teenager died after drinking four cans of Red Bull at a game. French laws dictate the maximum amount of caffeine that companies can add to products, and Red Bull exceeds that limit. Denmark and Norway have also banned the drink. Other countries, such as Canada, require the can to carry a warning label for pregnant women and children.

my buddy loved the Rock Star juice (me too) but he only drank that, and soda, and coffee...like no water ever.

one night he had 2, the next day he was in agony, and the day after that he passed a kidney stone.

So i'm sure its more of an issue when you don't keep the kidneys flushed out with plain water.
But when mike79 says "I think I'm addicted...I have to have one before I workout..." that's no fun mike..you don't really want to HAVE to drink one just to feel like you're getting a good workout do you?

Subconsciously, you're gonna associate Monster as a way to prepare to train...part of psyching up.
and then when you can't drink one, your brain will not shift gears, and you'll have a ****ty workout.
Our bodies and brains are creatures of habit and repetition whether we like it and are aware of it or not.

ya it kinda sucks, its more of a mental thing . Im just used to slammin one of those before i start, and if there are none , i do have trubble gettin in the right mind frame. damn energy drinks! hehe :)

They're gonna be regulated soon so you'd better hurry up...*just came over from posting in the FDA bans thread*

I tried warning everyone I knew in real life and on hte net to contact their representatives since the public had no voting rights on this other than through contacting their representatives.

Yeah for prescriptions just to get vitamin C.
