Raising The Bar

Tonight I'm eating big and tomorrow I'm deadlifting 140kg x 6 (308lbs I think). Either that bar goes up or I'll be hospitalised trying!

Glad your workout was better.. but dont hurt yourself lol

see.. im reading it now. :)

Workout went a lot better today I managed to deadlift 140kg for 4 reps. I couldn't quite make the full 6 but I was confident my form was good which is the main thing and it's the first time I've had to add 6 20kg plates to the bar which is a little milestone.

I also upped the military press to 60kg for the 5 reps, up from 45 last week. The jump was dramatic in effect as I was sweating like crazy for the rest of the session. I was getting stared at a lot, I think people were waiting for the heart attack :)

scales up to 221 so pretty happy the weight is increasing again

Good to here you had a good workout, CCR. Keep Rocken it (understand what I am saying? :) ).

Progression looks good on the MP, nice.

Keep chin up and rock on brotha!

Just got to work and I know already that I'm gonna struggle with my workout today. My daughter wet the bed last night and after we cleaned her up she came into bed with us, problem is she didn't go to sleep which meant I didn't sleep either. I'm one of those people that need 8 hours minimum so now I've only had a couple I'm in a bad state, my hands are twitching, my heart is pounding and all my muscles are burning.

There should be special workouts designed for parents which have alternative routines for those sleep deprivation days

A completely unrelated thought here but has anyone else noticed how hot Jamie Easton is? I love all her pics on T-Nation, they're half the reason I keep going back there :)

Lol, glad to see more Jamie Easton fans out there, I'm suprised she doesn't have more of a mainstream following

anyway...for todays workout I had to tweak it a little as I'm in no fit state to do my regular routine after my sleepless night.

I did my squats in reverse order going from high to low reps just because I wasn't sure about what I'd be able to cope with today so it went;

10x80kg
7x90
6x95

I also took this opportunity to test the olympic grip for front squats. I did this with a low weight for high reps on the step ups though to get used to the action and again because I was a little shakey due to sleep deprivation.

I did 2x15 @ 45kg for each leg. I figured the repeated use of the exercise and grip would get my body accustomed to it. Unfortunately I found it very heavy on the wrists so a lot more practise is needed but I did prefer the level of control

rows were
5x112kg
8x105
10x98

Overhead shrug 3x10 @45 which I'll up next week

Are you guys talking about Jamie Eason, or is there another one name Jamie Easton (with a t)?

If Eason is the one and the same I concur.

I remember when I was in Basic Training (Army), and the first 3 weeks we got an average of 4 hours sleep per day: We functioned fine. The body is a very funny but adaptive mechanic. You can do more than you think you can with less sleep. Suck it up! Now! :).

Rock it like you know it!..............

Pity..........what the......%$%%$%$%$%$%$% is that?

Just messen.

ROCK IT!

Lol, 4 hours?!? You were spoilt; as a father I've had to go for weeks with a couple of hours max a night

Here's a cool article written by her; to be honest I can't remember what it says because there are pictures of her between paragraphs
