Question about post diet..

What are your stats?

And did you read this entire thread? It doesn't seem like it since you are talking about building muscle while dieting like this.

Steve, your posts are so scattered AND you expect for people to pluck random tidbits from them? Wow, dude, WOW. If you posted a focused post on this thread about dieting and non-ability to gain muscle, yeah, I'd give it to you. Are you just using this forum so you can vent and be out of line?

Duke83, we need age, height, weight, gender, AND daily nutrition to help you more. You cannot build muscle while in a calorie deficit. If you eat plenty of protein, you can prevent muscle loss while in a calorie deficit. If you want to build muscle, you have to be in a calorie surplus and gaining weight. What most folks seem to have success with is dieting to their goal weight and then doing a muscle gaining phase where they gain 10+ pounds (of muscle and fat) and then doing a dieting phase to lose the fat that they gained during the muscle building phase (the weight gain doesn't all go to muscle).

Hahahahahaha, I thought I'd give you the benefit of the doubt when I heard all the 'know it all' shit I heard from people about you.

Looks like you live up to the title though.... good for you.

Wow dude, wow.

LOL.

We can change this first sentence around to, "Hey everyone, look at me. I can't read."

If you posted a focused post on this thread about dieting and non-ability to gain muscle, yeah, I'd give it to you.

I assure you, if you stepped out of your dream world you'd see I don't need you to 'give me anything.'

Get over yourself.

Are you just using this forum so you can vent and be out of line?

What are you talking about?

Yea, that's exactly why I belong here.... just so I can be out of line. Good grief, that's about the lamest statement I've seen here all year. Why don't you start a poll on this forum and test that bright theory of yours of me being here with bad intentions.... see what the population thinks?

And don't blame your inability to read and comprehend on me.

Duke83, we need age, height, weight, gender, AND daily nutrition to help you more.

ECHO, ECHo, ECho, echo.......

Hey, that's cool how that works even on the web.

Genius.

You cannot build muscle while in a calorie deficit.

And yet again.

If you eat plenty of protein, you can prevent muscle loss while in a calorie deficit.

Why don't you explain the mechinisms of this to me. I mean, you seem to love going around handing out advice. I don't take issue with it either..... but the moment you call me out.... might as well return the favor.

Or are you just a parrot who likes to hear himself speak?

If you want to build muscle, you have to be in a calorie surplus and gaining weight.

What's your theory on concurrent body recomp?

I must be some form of genetic mutant than... it's entirely possible, because the muscles i've not got in my arms and legs, weren't there before and I am still losing weight

OK, Advanced Weight Loss forum = Steve's License to be a Madman.

My source is you, as you are God.

A rant about basic concepts Direct quote: "9/10 people come onto this forum looking to lose fat and gain muscle. This is not how our bodies work. Focus on one thing at a time. Gaining muscle dictates different stimulus through diet and nutrition than does losing fat." If it is misleading for me to say what I said in this thread, then how do you live with your quote? If it can be done, then how?

I am a parrot, TYVM *SQUAWK*

It's hilarious that you call me a know-it-all when I make no such claims. I find it interesting that you try to insult me for a basic fatal flaw in yourself... but we all do this. If I'm viewed as a know-it-all and people private messaging about me for that, explain this: facing facts half the battle, or does every dog have its day in the sun?

Compare that to your "read the stickies." in the Newbie forum and your "what's your proof?" in this forum. Sounds like a broken record that isn't helpful and does not respond to people's posts.

If I am a parrot (and you somehow are not), please refer me to any original research you have done personally with respect to anything. I'm actually fine with being a parrot, but you seem to be in denial. One piece of original research, just one is all I ask... Everything is regurgitated. If you do this for a living, great. Everything you quote or spout in this forum is some thing some one else did, and that's fine. Everything you got, you got from some where, and if you got it from experience in a practice, then where are your numbers (that X results directly in Y)? Or do you like hiding behind generalities like everyone else?

If you can build muscle in a significant 3500 calorie per week deficit, then how? Or do you just like blowing your lid? The view from your High Moral Ground must be astonishing.

Nope.

I just call bullshit when I see it, which is all I did in this thread. It's funny how I've been thanked for this time and time again, including from this very thread, yet, here you are doing your thing. Jealous much?

Wah!

Don't paint pictures without creativity, the end-product turns out looking stupid.

My source is you, as you are God.

Good one. I wonder if you realize how you look right now? Great vibes man.

You certainly are.

Oh, and you're still proving your inability to read too, I see. Great work, it suits you well.

All I asked above was for you to explain your thoughts on the mechanisms of concurrent bodyrecomp. How you thought posting a link to one of my posts where I briefly discussed said topic would be proper in response to the question is beyond me.

It's no wonder you feel the need to cry/call out other members; when you are barely understanding what you're reading, that must stir up a certain level of frustration, I'd imagine.

It's hilarious that you call me a know-it-all when I make no such claims.

Haha, you think know-it-alls actually stake claim to that title? Hahahahahaha, you are freaking awesome.

I'm not the one saying you're a know-it-all.

I simply said it looks like you are living up to that title.

If you asked me, I'd say you enjoy acting like a pompous asshat. Now before you fumble your thoughts, realize I'm not calling you a pompous asshat. I'm saying you're acting like one. I never had a problem with you at all until you decided to start your rant about me.

I find it interesting that you try to insult me for a basic fatal flaw in yourself... but we all do this.

Show me one post in this forum where I'm speaking in regards to a subject I am in over my head with.

Then, maybe this statement will hold.

Until then, you've got nothing except proof of foolishness in yourself.

If I'm viewed as a know-it-all and people private messaging about me for that, explain this: facing facts half the battle, or does every dog have its day in the sun?

You LOVE being pompous, no?

Do your thing man.

I never said your advice sucked. COMPREHENSION!!!!!!

So why are you showing me this thread?

Compare that to your "read the stickies." in the Newbie forum and your "what's your proof?" in this forum. Sounds like a broken record that isn't helpful and does not respond to people's posts.

Wow.

Now I see what you're doing. You're trying to make this a battle between who's more helpful, me or you. That's pretty lame man.

But hey, you win. This is all the proof anyone would need, and if you want the title it's all yours. I'm not here for competition. And remember, the ONLY reason you see me posting hostile messages in response to you right now is b/c you decided to take it upon yourself to call me out.

If I am a parrot (and you somehow are not), please refer me to any original research you have done personally with respect to anything. You must be a crackhead.

I've provided research whenever I've been called out.

Do you even realize how stupid you sound right now?

If you can build muscle in a significant 3500 calorie per week deficit, then how? Or do you just like blowing your lid? The view from your High Moral Ground must be astonishing.

No dummy.

That's not how this game is played.

I've been called out numerous times on this forum for research. And if it exists and I know about it, I've provided.

Now you've been asked and you come back with this?

Hahahahahaha..... you're too much man.

And the really funny thing is I wasn't even asking for research. I'm not even a big fan of research. I simply asked for your thoughts on the mechanisms behind concurrent bodyrecomp. You seem to trip over that comprehension thing time and time again.

Anyhow, it's been fun but this will go absolutely nowhere. Feel free to have the last word. Just don't forget your Superman cape when you leave.... you're going to need that if you plan on protecting the forum from my bad intentions in the future.

Great work.

Just asking for proof of a "basic" concept. Since this is obviously what you do for a living, it shouldn't be hard. It would be much easier to provide a single link than to quote me line-by-line.
