Question about post diet..

Based on what you've said today, I can tell you are not a very happy nor nice person!

I'm sorry that I"ve said some things that have triggered an actual emotional response from you. I never had any intention of displaying my "ignorance" on any weight loss topic. I believe that the comments have been twisted and blown way out of proportion.

By the way, I've looked around plenty on this forum and it seems to be dominated by you. You'll get your wish and you won't be hearing from me again.

Just to make it easy on you, here's the dilemma:

You said:

If you are eating the right types of carbs, fats and proteins, you will rid your body of the metabolically inactive body fat and preserve the metabolically active muscle.

I asked in response to the above statement if you were suggesting that someone doesn't have to be in a caloric deficit in order to lose weight. If they eat the right combination of foods, that'll do the trick in terms of losing weight, deficit or not?

You answered this by saying:

I assume that you are saying that to lose weight, you need to reduce calories? Okay, i won't deny that you will lose weight that way. Will you be losing fat or muscle though?

You then continued to go way off topic. There's been about 5 questions asked here and you've answered none. So before I go on, let's stick with this one question.

You say you won't deny that you'll lose weight "this way," implying with a caloric deficit.

Let me ask you what other way there is to lose weight without being in a deficit?

Let's keep this very simple.

Who's getting emotional?

I simply said you were irritating, that's all.

Haha, again, stick to the topic. How hard is this.... your mind seems to go in a billion different directions, it's no wonder you don't have a firm grasp of this stuff yet.

Don't cop out and turn into a baby just b/c your bullshit's been called.

If there's a misunderstanding in regards to the information, make it apparent.

You're posting in the advanced weight loss forum - the guidelines of this forum are slightly different than the rest of the forum

ost people here are trying to lose weight using advice and support from others, but very few here are professionals. This is an attempt to bring in the professionals. THINGS COULD GET NASTY
if you're going to be posting answer here - you better be prepared to back up what you know because you will get called on it.

People are looking for advice in this forum and are entitled to good answers by people who have knowledge of the subject matter.

and not that steve needs anyone to defend him but he's actually a very happy person, least on here -he just takes this subject seriously as do many people... he's also very nice... jsut read around the forum, he's quite supportive of people.. and is always willing to lend a hand to anyone... and educate anyone..

and quite frankly -this forum is dominated by me thank you very much - no one can touch my post count... :)

Many have tried but I wear them down.. :D

but back to the topic at hand...

1100 calories a day isn't healthy long term :D

Hahaha, the day I rule myself, let alone 20,000 people, is when his statement will be even close to valid.

oh the horror...

whatever shall we do -
oh woe is us...

I'm just inconsolable.

I'm gonna go eat a sara lee cheesecake now :(
with hot fudge
and a can of reddi whip, straight from the can

That's fine, Mal. It's not the calories we need to worry about.

It's the nutrients.

cheesecake is dairy and graham cracker crusts are whole grain -the cherries ont he cheesecake are fruit.... chocolate well is chocolate that'd be the good food group and everything is better with whipped cream - lots of protein all around :)

What's wrong with my nutrients?

what's wrong iwth me that Icould actually justify cheesecake with fudge and whipped cream..
and now i really want reddi whip whipped cream :D

Not a damn thing.

I'm pissed, I really wanted to get to the bottom of this debate.

at some point you'll pass out then resume breathing...

but when you do pass out -i'll be standing by with a camera to take -- ummm - compromising pictures and find out once and for all -is steve's behind hairy? :D

Wow, i started world war 3! So, to beat my final 10 pounds, I just need to stick it out then? I don't think I have what it takes to increase my cardio, I walk a mile to warm up, run a solid 2 miles, then do sprints the next mile. I haven't done a whole lot of muscle, just enough that i know i am building it and so I don't loose what I have. I don't know how fast muscle grows vs. fat but I didn't want to start building muscle with fat over it, especially on my chest. And my final question, I should be good at 1500 cals up from 1100 and not gain alot of weight?
