Do you mind posting a pic? You male or female? (I looked at your profile and it didnt mention it)

A good start....

would be to increase your caloric intake by 500-800 HEALTHY calories per day to gain substantial weight. Your metabolism is probably in overdrive, so it may be even higher than that number, but 500-800 is a good test. Obviously your workout plan will determine a lot of what that caloric intake will be. Being that you are so light, I would recommend a good bulking exercise routine to go along with the increased intake, to ensure all that extra food isn't turning into fat. Read some of the stickys and posts in the weight training forum, you'll get some great info. Protein is definitely something that you will need to incorporate, but overall nutrition and exercise should take precedence. Roughly, you want to take your body weight*1.5 grams of protein per day as a good bulk. I use Nature's Best Isopure whey isolate. It's 50g of protein per and 210 calories per serving when mixed with water. If you're increasing caloric intake, you may want to take some of these "clean" protein shakes with milk to help create that gain.
Anyway, best of luck to you. :)

I've always been a fan of ON's 100% whey.

The Casein isn'f too bad either but you need a ton of water and a good blender to get the clumps out.

Pong, maybe a weight gained shake would be better for you than just a protein shake.

Something like Muscle Milk Collegiate by Cytosport, or MonsterMaxx by PVL?

im thinking of trying ON's whey protein first and see how it goes..then maybe i'll also try your suggestions..

The problem is people are misinformed about protein. The body converts unused protein to fat. Diets containing too much protein puts extra stress on the Kidneys and Liver. Protein is not anaerobic, and is not a primary energy source for the body; it is mostly used in the synthesis of enzymes and general repair.

Can you elaborate? What is wrong with BSN or MuscleTech protein powders? Have a link?

if you go to bodybuilding . com you'll see that BSN is actually being sued because the kind of creatine they claim is in their NO-Xplode and Cell-mass isn't really in it

And there's nothing wrong with muscletech per se, it's just that you can get the same quality stuff for cheaper from brands that aren't endorsed by million dollar athletes.

I do pop in to bb.com but not in the supplements section (I've seen the thread you are talking about now). I believe in taking just whey protein or creatine by itself not some expensive super-duper product.

i think proteins supplements should be taken together with workout for it not to convert into fat..and that's what i'm gonna do..

and by the way too much of something is always bad for the body..

It's VERY hard for protein to get stored as fat...even if you take an abudance of it.
