I wouldn't sweat fruit before bed. An 1/8 of a cantaloup has about 5g of carbs.

yes, but your data is based on 1/8th of a medium melon which is equivilant to 69g of fruit which is about 1/3 cup or about 4 bites of melon.

I'm not saying fruit is horrible before bed, but just be aware of the carbs especially when trying to maintain proper macronutrient ratios

some quick info on carbs in fruit

cantalope (1c) ~ 12g
apple ~ 15g
pinapple (1c) ~ 20g
grapes (1c) ~ 28g
banana ~ 25g
orange ~ 15g

again not the end of the world, but i prefer to keep these earlier in the day. Just my preference.

But this isn't before bed, it's at or before 6 p.m.

yeah i got that much. i was responding to malkore.

but in response to that, what time do you go to bed? and what time are all your meals at?

its usually good to have something slow digesting before you go to bed to keep your metabolism up while you sleep. but according to your stats, you dont seem to be having any trouble at all. Just something to keep in mind if you end up having trouble shedding those last few pounds.

can't, or won't...eat cottage cheese?

i think the stuff is aweful too, but I just mix a little fat free, no sugar added yogurt w/ fruit into it, and that makes it all taste like yogurt.

my wife thinks i'm nuts..she takes her cottage cheese salty/spicy...never sweet.

Would this be alright for a late night/before bed snack? A few tablespoons of protein pudding to satisfy?

Is it slow digesting as well?
