I think the whole high GI carbs post workout is a BAD idea for people trying to improve there bodycomposition. Its fine for performance minded trainees.

I just drink down 40g of protein these days.

Why is it bad? Normally you dont want to cause an insulin spike, but after burning out your stores.. Its not a bad idea to replenish them quick to get yourself out of a catabolic state.

anyone tried "Lava" from universal nutritions... i think its a good choice for a PWO drink... what do u think?

Stroutman, I don't mean to contradict, but I also read that article and asked around about it on menshealth.com (my first site) and this is the response I got:

Hey Cynic, thanks very much with the follow up reading. I was only posting that link to spark debate and convo. I by no means follow that article myself. I have lived and died by the pre and post workout whey protein shake mixed with malto. It has always worked for me. When I stop seeing gains, only they will I rearrange some things.

I just love reading and researching heavily debated topics such as pwo nutrition, and t-nation usually has some great articles to read.

Thanks again. Whenever you find good articles or posts like this outside of t-nation, please forward them to me.
