Petals diary

It sounds like you like the job more than you don’t but it’s probably very hectic. Mine is the same. I’ve enjoyed the little reprieve I’ve had from the manic days - they are back again this week but the day goes flying by, so it makes it bearable for me.

At least now you no longer have to help with school work, right?
Yayyyyyyy I don’t know myself it is such a weight off

yes Emily I think you are right . It’s a very busy environment. The days zoom past

It must be such a relief not having that school stress. I'm glad work is zooming by. How is your husband going with his work, Petal?

Hi LaMa , Em and Cate
Hope today zooms by too.
Cate yes he seems busy enough but has lost some work. He always seems to have stuff on though so fingers crossed. Problem now is getting paid .
Woke too early again today . Tired now . But it's Friday .

Not much to report here . Good busy day yesterday and ate pretty well . It so helps not having rubbish food around the house. We are off to do the grocery shop now as it as so so busy yesterday and I couldn’t face the queue so I hope we miss the crowds today .
Chatted with a close friend last night . She manages a huge payroll operation and she has never worked so hard in her life . They manage payroll for some huge clients so with the layoffs and subsidies it’s been a nightmare . While most of us enjoyed some downtime and relaxation during lockdown she has been working from 7 am until 10 pm most days except Sunday . She has barely eaten a proper meal and is totally exhausted. Felt bad for her .
happy weekend everyone

Oh my God, your poor friend. That sounds brutal. It must be so awful because of the legal ramifications if people don’t receive their pay on time. Anyone with a big job in finance seems to work crazy hours. No thank you. :)

Enjoy the food shopping and happy weekend.

Oh, your poor friend. I would hate to be under pressure like that. No amount of pay would be worth it.
Enjoy your weekend, Petal xo

Not only would no amount of pay make that worth it, it would also be illegal here. Or it would HAVE been, up until a year or so ago when a law was passed to make it legal for people to work crazy hours "with their consent". But I guess there have always been exceptions for emergency situations.

Think Ireland is a bit the same . With your consent their is no real issue but circumstances are unusual at the moment .

I am really hungry today but sticking to healthy food .

Hi em no I didn’t bother tbh . I will wait till it calms down a bit . Went to work and for a walk . What about you ?

I don't feel like shopping either, Petal. We had a brief drive yesterday to deliver some wood to our GS & the amount of traffic on the road was crazy. Noooo!

Good for you sticking to your plan despite being hungry. I know that can be hard, but you are doing it! It helps me to either have a low calorie snack, or do do something that will take my mind off of it. I am sure you know such tricks.

Good for you on the walking, I need to get back out at it. Maybe once our mini ice age passes I will.

Cate agree with the traffic it's back to normal here . Listened to an Irish scientist this morning while I was waking up . To use an Irish term ,he has scared "the bejayus out of me " . He said we are coming out of lockdown too fast . 1000 Irish scientists have petitioned the govt to slow us down . I am going to try wear my face mask from now on in supermarkets and busy areas.
Rob the walking is going well again. We did a mountain walk yesterday .
I have lost 1lb this week so I'm slowly back on track.
Food on the whole is good , fresh and healthy . I do eat lots so weight loss will be slow.

You don´t have far to go so slow is fine. And the first pound is already gone again!
