Performance -Not Enough!

today's plan
Open water swim: first 200 at RPE 9-10 (all out) then settle into race pace for 40 minutes

90 minute bike REP 3-4

So, I am headed to the dropzone for a couple of skydives. I am taking my bike and will just pick a lake.

the reason for my post: I feel like I am going to burst. LET's BURN SOME CALORIES AND ENERGY BABY!!!!

That is so sick have fun. The reason for my post is that I feel like I'm going to burst. But thats because my roommate is in the bathroom, and my system needs to be emptied!
 
hahahah you guys are a riot. I have gone out of a plane on a bicycle before, pics made a calendar back then.

Wow some peeps posted in my log. thanks. Tony- to do handstand all you need to do is go outside and spend an hour, or however long your shoulders last, tryin ot do them. Oh, and repeat it until you get it down. It is a cool trick. At the gym i can flip upside down an do handstand pressups....tha macho men think that's cool.

OK so- i made 3 jumps.

I snuck into a lake and did about 20 minutes open water and got thrown out.

I rode 2 hours on the suncoast highway for 36.2 miles.

CBWILL- are you coming to the event? My wife will be volunteering in the transition area, i will be a bit busy, but let's make it happen.

Sparrow- I am getting sponsored for my Ironman byt the IronBulls club (USF supporters) we are going to raise money for Moffitt cancer center. You did not tell me how IMPOSSIBLE it is to get into an Ironman. All of the 08 events are closed except for charity athletes. It is insane what it takes to get into one of these things-- let alone what it takes to get ready for one. it looks like i will be doing IMWI -wisconsin 08. or maybe IMKY- Kentucky, but we are trying to get a stot in the IMFL (Florida).

Lot of adrenaline and endorphins today. I'm tired.

off to church, maybe i will learn something- like how to not do or say what I know i should not do or say. Tall order, but I've got my whole life to figure it out, since it seems i aint dying- even though I'm trying. And if I don;t make th grade- Jesus will catch me- price is paid.


SO- off to keep going all out, and livin it BIG baby!!!

Swim/Bike/Run - 10 min each discipline 3 rounds.

found out full body shave is the norm, so okee dokee then. well not too short in the privates, and not the lil i have left on my head. but arms and legs and all that.

picking up my new gear tomorrow, from my new sponsor USF Ironbulls Athletics. if it is not good, I have decided i will not risk completion to wear their clothing logo'd. BUT i'm sre it will work out just fine.

they want me to do the IMKY Ironman in Kentucky. i can't believe I am a sponsored athlete. they are also giving me nutrition money for GNC's and all kinds of stuff. I'm super excited - BUT - i have a major workout coming on Saturday.

WOW! I really had no idea as I'm not an Ironman (or Ironwoman for that matter!) you have surpassed me FF and I'm really proud of all you've accomplished. Really and truly!

Come on out to CA for your ironman in 08! Then I can cheer you on!

VERY COOL that you are sponsored. Thats like official or something :D You rock. If it weren't for your drive and optimism I may not keep going with it all. Its a lot of hard work reaching our goals isn't it!

tonight was triple discipline in reverse and it was actually quite hard.

Run: 30 min RPE 5-6
Ride: 30 min RPE 3-4
Swim: open water 15 min RPE 8-9 for 200 then race pace

the water did feel funny. and my skin did feel like sullifane was on it. And I swam open water in FL in the dark. Gator bait-- what a thrill.

All set for Saturday. I have tomorrow off, and friday is 30 min run

altered nutrition plan a touch, adding another 6 electrolyte tabs at the 4 hour mark.

I think I went to bed at the time you got up and on the road this early morning. Then I lazily woke up as you were probably starting your run! I'm very aware of the clock and where you are "at" right now! I'm sure you're doing amazing and I hope you have the Barnabas thing in full swing and that its fueling your in ways you never thought it could!
Please give us an update when you're fingers are up to it :)

I just tried to lie down, layed there and and layed there. i thought of all the encouragement, coaching, motivation, and accountabiility you have give4n me Sparrow- and this place. Fitness is fun, when we make it that way. I had to report.

Yes Sparrow I was Barnabas (the encourager) on the bike and the run.

overall time is something like 7:18 or so. tomorrow is the banquet and results.

when we went into the water is was pouring rain and there was an at least 1 foot chop. It was tough. What was cool is my age group took off just about the time the Ironme were finishing their first lap. SO- i swam with them. 51 or so minutes for the swim. Stats and pics in a few days.

On the bike I was very strong... I passed lots. and when we made the turn to Sugarloaf, there was a lineup of walking. I rode it striaght thru.
Ride was 3:20 or so.

here's the big story of the day- sand in socks. (taking pan of water for dipping feet next time)

By mile 3 I new I had a problem- MAJOR problem with my feet. The pain got so bad that I was able to run a mile and then walk a 1/4 to get thru it. UNTIL Mile 8! DUH! Take the shoes off and run for it. SO I did. Well, that got a lot of attention. I had time to make up, so I went. I blew by quite lots of people. I did a mini HIIT series for the mental. The bottoms of my feet were coming off. BUT- thinking of "did I not command thee, to be of courage and strength" block it out! deal with it! WILLING TO SUFFER!!! this is my element. The ultimate athlete.

anyhow,,, there were 2 people that wanted their pic taken with the ironbull after the race. This is going to be a great turn for my sponsor USF ATHLETICS, Raising money for the Moffitt Cancer Center.

the finisher pic will show me crossing with no shoes. the total run without shoes was just over 5 miles.

I should go to sleep. But I am going to a UFC party with the TaeKwanDo club. then back to the event for the banquet in the morning - it's only right that I go.

Ironman is very spirital- believe that!!
 
You are for real. Great update and I couldn't be more happy for you! What a fulfilling day this must've been for you. I cannot see how ironman CAN'T be spiritual. Its so much more beyond the physical for me. Even just thinking and reading about it I feel that way. What a strong emotion.

thank you all so much for the support. That was a major event, and without the support who knows.

Today:
tried to swim- witin 50 yards I knew it was a bteer idea to steam.
evening run for 45 minutes at the par(about 3.5 miles or so). It felt good to really get a sweat on, but I did not stress too hard for fear of any crippling type of cramp. Wow! I really spent my body to make that half Iron.

Training plan for thru the holidays is not set. I will be doing the Disney Marathon in Jan, as a focus event. then there is a HIM in FEB that can get me to IMFL or IMKY. and those will keep me focused. In the meantime I will get that cert for the gym and try putting together a lil endurance group.

I am thinking

2-3 days a week tri-train and endurance. 2-3 days a week weights. i want to strengthen some and build a bit so i don't end up being some skinny lil runt over the IRONMAN affair. :) and Sparrow- i plan to finish the Ironman in the 13th hour (i just like the sound of that) get a tatoo and call Ironman done!

Good grief it's a tall dang order to live this way.
 
gotta get back in the endurance zone today. Planning on a long ride and a long run. who knows what can happen thoough,,,, but i will work out big today. Reporting later.

time to get back in the saddle. otherewise I will probably shoot right back up to 200 lbs, put those 3 inches right back on, get a fatty brain, turn slothful, have a minor heartattack, eventual stroke and die with my skin absorbing ointo the couch..... oh goodlord save me.
