Performance -Not Enough!

OK, i'll go ahead and post it.

i am having a hard time iwth discipline. i want to thin down, but i like eating whatever i want. A decision an da commitment need made. crap! i hate it when things get real. Transparency and maybe i can really change.

thanks to the leanbean.

I have the muscles, it's just underneath this 1 inch thick layer of fat.

i'm open to suggestion on handling the mentals that are within this thick skull.

It's a one-day-at-a-time deal bud. We all have good days and bad-- and days that it's easier to keep the discipline going (and days you want to throw in the towel).

So just get up, do what you need to...come here and read...call a friend...read a book...do 150 pushups.

I've never seen the abs I want (on me), but I know they are there...it's just going to take hard work and patience to get there. And for the arms/upper body...and lower body (not nearly as plagued with fat), I'm hoping to see enough results to keep me motivated.

So get over it dude-- you want discipline? Go watch Full Metal Jacket.

rode bikes on nature trails today,, wore my kid out, he rode the pavement, and i rode the grass and dirt... stopped at park and did pullups until fail, 3 different times, TJ my son got a full 10 in a row,,, lil crapper,,, he just started trying, i can do 17 with palms facing me, and 12 with palms out,, did a total of 63 pullups in all.

tach on bike gave us 18 miles ridden, but we stopped a few times.

plan on running when the sun goes down. --Ended up running two miles incorporating 15 pushups with different hand position every 1/2 mile. Nice and very very sweaty!!

For Diet,,, i am trying to just drop sweets. my diet is strong, but i love to have a piece of cake, a milky way, or a brownie at the drop of a hat.

Beems-- my energy comes from two things i believe! 1. Momentum... i try to keep the motor running. 2. no carbonated drinks, no beer, no cokes...

This is a tough one - clearly you do more than enough exercise to justify a cheat now and again, but just as clearly it's not getting you to your goal of removing that last inch of fat. You might have to just decide which you want more - more fun cheat meals, or lower bodyfat...

I guess my problem is #1 -- momentum. I hate soda's of any kind and am not an alcohol drinker so that part I don't have a problem with...got to get the momentum going I guess.

But having a bit of a sweet tooth myself (to put it mildly) here are some things that I like to do to satisfy that craving: Eat fruit...but jazz it up a bit
grapes, yogurt, banana's, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, apples, cantaloupe, watermelon, etc.

I like to pick about three fruits (small portions for me) and then mix in one small container of fat free yogurt, it is delicious. Then you can top it with some cruchy granola (look for the naked kind of granola...)...Give it a try the next time you want a brownie...you may find that it works on that sweet tooth...

I also found that it takes me about 3 days or a week without sweets to really have the cravings go away...Then the longer I am without them the less cravings I have.

And you must be doing something correct since you have lost 6 lbs...

Remember, this won't be instant!

Good on ya dude-- you're making the most of all of it! After watching you the last couple days, I'm very thankful I don't have issues with sugar-- yikes!

Now I kind of understand why the wife goes a bit nuts when she has to give up her carbs...

Keep it up dude-- we're doing this. Gonna be in the best shape and healthier than ever man.

You're off sugar and you're making cookies...? Hmm I'd be interested to see the recipe.

And I have to say, I feel your pain - my eating hasn't been the greatest of late due to having uncustomary unhealthy foods around the house - leftover from summer parties and the like. I too have to walk the walk in order to be able to talk the talk.

Yes, he is and if it is done correctly, there pretty good!

the difference is Splenda (the baking kind) with whole wheat flour (instead of refined white), with the main stay being oatmeal and raisins (its oatmeal raisin cookies he is referring to. Healthy and no refined flour and no refined sugar

almost two hours for the ride Beems. the off road trail stretched it out quite a bit. best way, if you are up for riding is get Doc to install an odometer on your bike,,, go out 1/2 your distance, and then you have to make it home.

oh-- please for the exertion "moderates" I do not buy that... I subscribe to dig a whole deep enough that it takes work to get out of it!!

yes the cookie recipe came from a guy that has dietary discipline and results I am lookign for.--- and Stingo-- thanks for the smoothie idea,, it saved me from eating (just a half cup) of ice cream... the mental games I can play with myself,,, just a half cup! HA!

It is my 3rd full day of no refined sugar (except a lil pile of choc altoids) and I actually feel pretty good. i had a depressin type of tired feeling for a couple of hours today.

OK,, here is a bit of success_ i qualified tonigth for a freeform sparring tournament tomorrow at the 2nd degree level... now mind you, i am only a confirmed black.. SWEET.... Master said it is due to speed and agility.. also remember i am coming back from injury (skydiving accident),,, hence how i found this place...

i was soo pumped i came home and went for a run,, about a half mile in,, a 4x4 8' fence post said "take me, take me" so i picked it up and finished my 5K route, with it in many many many different positions on my body, and dropped the board back off where i found it.

Sat out on he back patio and thought aboutwho i woule be sparring and asked my lovely to bring me a couple "Chillens" thats what we call the cookies/brownies... she came out and said, "you should take a picture of those feet, so they know you aint wasting his time,,, so the pic is attached.

In addition I got my medical release today for skydiving,,, so tomorrow i drop my equipment for inspection and Sunday i will be flyinfree again in freefall baby.

So, Tae Kwon Do tournament, and skydiving on the same weekend,,, I am almost restored to fullnes...

on top of that- and this is the big one---
I weighed in tonight at 191.6 lbs... that is nearly 14 lbs less than my opening post.

takes alot more then magnesium citrate for that one doc! happy happy night, and thanks to this place again.
