Other forum sectiones

I usually just hang out in the weight training section. Some in the off topic too, and some in the photo gallery. Though, i tried browsing through the other sectiones and it seems theres a whole other community of people posting there! Have anyone else had the same experiences? Anyways, i just wanted to say to all you "others" out there, you are welcome to hang in the weight training section :p and maybe i should start exploring the other sectiones of the forum :D

Lol, yeah I've found that too. And often you'll see the advice given in each section differs greatly. I mainly stay in my comfortable domain of the weight training section, areas like weight loss where they talk about calorie deficits give me nightmares

Damn right. The food sections seem to have a whole new world in there. It's weird. Guess we're the regulars?

No "e" in sections Karky.

I typically hang out in the "nutrition" and "supplements" section. I also go to the lounge of course. I almost never visit anything under "general" unless I see a thread that interests me. The women's weight section is very dead so I rarely go there as well :( I'll sometimes take a peek at the men's weight section or post a question there (I get more answers there than posting at the womens).

I just click the "todays post" button. It will give me all the post I have not seen, responded to and so on yet. I seldom ever simply just enter a section. I don't see the point when I got the "new post" and the "todays post" button...

Of course if we had like 50 journal entries a day like over at WLF then I would be strictly going to certain sections...

I go section to section, but honestly, the weight loss and nutrition are my favorite rooms. Maybe because I've been there, done that, so I like to try to offer help to people who need it. The weight lifting room is cool as hell, but there are so many people that know so much more, I just don't post all that much. I love to read the posts though and throw in input when I can. This place pretty much kicks ass from head to toe.

thanks calcium, i have a tendency to put inn that friggin E everywhere, sectionEs, like i want to make it sound friggin french or something :p i know its not suppose to be there, i do it with alot of other words too, so just nail me if you see me do it, i gotta get rid of that bad habbit :p

I click new posts. I dont go through sections. I dont like to discriminate and deprive other sections of my wisdom. Cough Cough Splutter.

The ones i mainly go to and my favourite are:

Injuries - except its not the busiest ofplaces :(

nutrition

weight loss

weight lifting

I stay mostly in a handful of them, and look around from time to time in others.

Mainly, what gets me is the other site (the wt loss one). It's insane over there. I don't even see how allCdnBoy lets it stay on the internet with the info they post. With the exception of Steve (can't think of his name on here) - they can't stand for anyone with any scientific knowledge to say anything. The "experts" are educated by Oprah and Shape magazine and it shows in most of their posts.

"Ummm, I'm 32, 5'7", 185lbs - so like should I eat 1200 cals a day of mainly fruit and yogurt to lose fat?"

response -

"Yeah, that sounds great, you may want to get a little more variety in there if you want (and some diet soda and Nutrigrain bars) - but otherwise, keep it up!"

Thank God Steve is there at least to give out some actual information.

Oh, and I just you over there Silent - good.

OK, don't jump on me. It just bugs me that the theme of the site seems to be that perceived personal experience should supersede all proven fact. That, and general info from fitness mags seem to be a perfectly exceptable form of education.

To those from here who post over there - kudos.

And when it all goes pear shaped (along with their figure) they'll blame genetics and cut out the fruit because of the carbs

The only thing that has ever bugged me on this site is the people bashing the smith machine. I know I know not as effective blah blah blah. But it still has its purpose. No it isnt just to hang your coat on :drooling1:

seriously, the smith has its purpouse, but in those purpouses, the bar doesnt move, you can do pullups, pushups, etc from it. But belive me, doing squats, bench (unless maybe its a throw bench) etc, is worthless. My shoulders scream just looking at some of the guys doing shoulder press in the smith, it just looks so ackward on the shoulders.

As far as this site goes, I love it.

If I were to have a complaint, it's that some members can be a bit elitist. Not in the snobby, "I'm cool and you suck" way, but more that sometimes people just don't understand why everyone doesn't eat 100% natural, organic, fresh, whole foods 100% of the time with only natural organic seasonings, and only drink 100% water. It's as if they can't understand the concept of occasionally wanting something just b/c it tastes good. Not that it's bad to always eat perfectly, just that a little understanding goes a long way.

Other than that, I love all you bastards. :)
