Once & for all ...

Here I am ... BACK AGAIN. I am SO disapointed in myself - it's horrible. But I know that I am the ONLY one who can control my weight and who can make choices that are best for my health in the long run.

I am going to dedicate ONE MONTH to being as healthy as I possibly can. I usually set up with the midframe of 6 months and it starts to become overwhelming ... so I decided I will take one month at a time.

Tomorrow is my "Day 1". I will record all and everything that goes into my mouth. I am not going to stick to a specific "diet" but am going to count calories and try to stay between 1200 - 1500 calories per day. This month I am going to completely dedicate myself to eating healthy, and hopefully adding exercise as much as possible, but my MAIN focus is foods right now. I also want to up my water intake as well.

I am 21 years old, and as of right now I weight 204 lbs. I will weight in once a week, on Monday's. My ultimate goal is 150 lbs. for right now, but this month's goal is 184. That is a 20 lb. weight loss in one month. Starting date tomorrow will be June 26th, so by July 26th I want to be down to 184 lbs.

Good luck with your goal and plan!

Welcome.
I hope this time we can all encourage you to stick with us. :p I've been told so many times don't beat yourself up and do one day at a time. So just remember that.
Glad to see you have a plan and a goal. Good luck. I will check back with you later. :)

Hi skinnysomewhere :)

Welcome back! It's great that you're here and ready to work towards your goal!

I was just wondering, is trying to lose 20 pounds in a month (4 weeks and 2 days) feasible? Based on your current weight, you could eat 1436 calories and lose two pounds a week, not including excercise. Five pounds a week seems like a lot!

Again, welcome back :D It's all one step at a time!

We're all here to help you stay focused. 20 lbs might be a little too much for one month, but, eat healthy get in the exercise and the the lbs will come off and staying motivated no matter how much comes off is the goal.

good luck!!!,

M2M and I are always the ones pointing out potentially obsessive or excessive behaviour! :) I worry that by saying 20 pounds, which seems a bit much, that if you don't reach your goal you will beat yourelf up and fall off the wagon. Also, the idea of being 'perfect' in your eating for a solid month is unrealistic. We all make mistakes! If you demand too much of yourself than you are feeding a lot of negative self-talk. You seem to be self-sabotaging.

I hope this doesn't seem harsh. You can lose the weight!!! But focus on slow and steady. Quick loss is not likely to stay off. We're looking at a way of life, not a diet. We're here for you!! :)

Oh sillygirl - we do tend to see things simillarly ;)

I have to say, I do aggree with sillgirl WHOLE heartedly, I think having unrealistic goals sets us up for failing - and losing weight doesn't have to be about failing - it's like sillygirl says, slow and steady!

You can do this AND be in control, I just really recommend re-evaluating your time span for the weight loss. You're not going to want those pounds to come back to you once you start eating "normally" again - you know?

Thanks everyone :)
Yes, I know youre right ... 20 lbs this month does seem somewhat drastic and uinrealistic, as does sticking with my healthy eating habits perfectly ... but I am going to try my hardest and the number doesnt so much bother me as much as just toning up and getting back on track. Don't worry girls :) Thank you allso much for the comments. I'm excited! GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!!!!

Skinny,

If you don't hit your 20 lb goal, just smile and say 'well I lost 15 lbs and that's a good thing' should you come up short. There's still a positive built into your effort - use it. Don't let that 5 lbs wreck your mind or break your diet stride. ;)

Thank you Trucker :) I will be happy with any loss ... I really will. I just want to get out of the 200's first and that will make me smile !!

Day 1*

So ... I babysit on Monday's so I have to be careful about my meals! But today I plan on taking the little girl I babysit for to the park and for a long walk, so there's some exercise there :)

B - Light Yogurt - 100 cals
3 cucumber mini sandwiches - 160
L -

First weigh in today: 202.2

Day 2

Ok ... so day 1 wasn't as great as planned ... I lost track of everything I ate while babysitting ... not good.

But there's no excuse for giving up already so today has been a good start I suppose :)

B - 1 yogurt 100 cals
1 piece of summer sausage 90 cals

L - sandwich w/ whole wheat grain bun (cals??), summer sausage (180), miracle whip (100), tomatoe

so ... guesstimate cals so far : 600 (guessing on the bun calorie count, so I over guessed at 130 cals just to be safe)

S - taco salad
lettuce salad
italian wedding soup

I need to do this. I know I can because I have in the past, but I just need to get on a roll to jumpstart it a little. I need to just say one day at a time and take what comes at me and make the best choices. Sometimes it's sooo tough though!

I have those days. I bought a box of nill wafers (see nilla yogurt freeze under receipt section). The receipt calls for each lil yogurt freeze you make, 2 nilla wafers.

Once I opened that box and the smell of them hit me. I said 'just ONE' - and the next thing I know I think I consumed 16.

I just have to be smarter when I buy things that are VERY on the fense and know that at this point in my journey I don't have the ability to control myself. 2 chips are not a bad thing but who ever just eats two chips? One cookie isn't necessarily a bad thing but it's like the pringles commercial - once you pop you just can't stop!

Good luck! You can do it! You WILL do it!

Epi - OOohhh how I know how that goes! I can never just seem to stop at one, or even two! haha* But we can work on this together :) We'll make it!!

The past couple days have not gotten off on the right start - I've been seeing tons of old friends, therefore going out to eat, etc. Not good, but not horrible and not as bad as I've been in the past.

Day 3

B - yogurt - 100 cals
lettuce salad w/ yellow peppers, spray dressing( 10 sprays), tomatoes - 100 cals

L - frozen meal - 260 cals

Snack - 1 pickle - 5 cals
SB wraps - 250 cals

Today is a cleaning day! I just got back from Miami, FL and still haven't unpacked haha* Soo ... that is today :) Hopefully get out on a bike ride or to the gym later on!
Total so far today - 615 cals.

D - chicken/rice/peppers- 400cals

I know it's super hard to stay on track i started out at 155 in my college years and with working at an office (sitting all day) and driving everywhere my active level has gone down alot. I am not at 216 and it seems like the weight just came on over night althoug i know it took 6 years.

Honestly just take it day by day that's all i can do. I am new here myself but i find this board to be very helpful especially when you have to fight temptation.

Hey coco - Thanks. That's very motivational for me to keep going ... thank you. I know it's a long hard road , but the only way it will ever get done is if we just keep pluggin along :)

I found a great new EASY breakfast idea! Such a great idea for when you need a good, filling, healthy breakfast and are in a rush! Get a ziplock, quart size baggie, crack 2 eggs ( or 3 egg whites ) in the baggie and zip shut. "Squish" the baggie to mix the eggs (add milk if wanted), then reopen baggie and add peppers, cheese, mushrooms, etc. anything that you want and zip close again. Stick in BOILING water for 13 minutes and BAM!!! An omelet :)

Hi skinny! Glad to see your still here :D. Looks like your doing a great job, everyone gets off to a little bit of a rocky start but it will get easier with time.
That sounds like a great idea for breakfast. yum
Keep up the great job and hope you have a wonderful day. :)

Back again ... New day 1!

Well I've been out of town for the past few days ... a wedding, family up, etc. All that fun stuff! So needless to say, not the best eating choices, BUT today I am starting fresh and just getting back on track. Even taking a trip to the gym :)

B - piece of chicken

L - 2 pickles, wrap w/ chicken, relish, tomatoes, lettuce, low fat miracle whip,

Cheers to you having a good day... YAY!!!
