At 5'4 i'm 204 pounds. My waist is 42" and My clothes range from anywere between a Size 14 to 22 :S
I usually have around 1600 calories a Day and Excersise for about 30 to 45 Minutes- Anything i should change? I've overate 19 out of 35 days so far (I started at 214 pounds)

Any tips? Also, I have SERIOUS problems with over-eating.
And i kinda need Motivation which i don't get from Family...

Thanks for any help!! :)

You lost 10lbs in 34 days? That is about as good as you and do without damaging your helth.

I say keep it up and you are doing well.

When I want to reach for that cookie or extra fries, I think about my brother being a Marine Core LT and the willpower he had to have to make it to his rank. Then, it makes it pretty easy not to stuff my face.

Good start and congrats on keeping to your routine.

You mentioned having issues with overeating.

These are often tied to emotional issues.

You're unhappy about something and reach for a food to comfort you.

Break that connection and you can overcome the overeating issue.

Keep your eye on your goals, remind yourself of them every day and imagine what you look like and feel when you reach them. Continue that every day.

Great job on your progress and keep it up!

I love to eat, and I lvoe feeling full. Two foods you can pretty much get away with doing that are chicken breasts, and broccolli. amongst others, but thsoe are the ones i find the most filling.

Sounds like without family to cheer you on, that you may start overeating due to stress or depression. Do you have any hobbies or sports that you are into? Start with something slow if necessary, I find that cross-stitching or crocheting is relaxing plus you get a sense of accomplishment when you have finished a project. Hey, what the heck, get enough of them done you can sell them to make money and then what do you have? A real sense of accomplishment and a great boost of self esteem to the point you feel you can do anything.

I was really bad off myself because my dad was always putting me down because of my weight, but now with the weight loss program I am now, I am losing the weight, I have gained the energy...and I still have my hobbies that I have worked on and can sell.

Main thing is don't let anyone tell you that you cant do something, you can do anything you put your mind to and much more. Hobbies also keep the hands and mind busy and keep you from thinking about food.

I wish you the best of luck, and you can always email me for encouragement and support. Been there, done that, got the T'shirt...ripped it up and threw it away!!!

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Thankyou!! Yes, they aren't very supportive and always tell me it won't work. I want to prove them wrong

>< that sucks. only one thing to do in my opinion, prove them wrong.

keep in mind, you also want to do it for yourself. (i think?? lol)

Water!

I know it sounds silly, but if you have water with you all the time you're more likely to drink it than to get up and find something else. Water can help you keep that "full" feeling--at least it helps me.

Plus i know i didn't get over 200lbs by being super active, so in my laziness i'd rather drink my water which is always right next to me than go and find something.

It's cheap too!!

Best of luck!

one piece of advice i'd give you is anytime you go to pick up food and eat it...

just pop it back down and walk away.

and it's that easy

when i lost weight what i did was think of something bigger than the enjoyment of food. i looked at food as nourishment and it was easier to look at food as a tool and not a pleasure because i got into fitness training my body. as far as family can go i think its a shame you dont have help, i didnt either as a teen, and my family is lazy and overweight and i lost the weight on my own with out their support. i mean its me loosing weight not them. remember that loosing weight isnt easy and its a very tough thing to over come and master your own body. the rate your loosing weight is healthy. eating less is one thing and eating healthy is another. balancing those two you can get to your goal weight.

you only live life once

I use Food as a Tool now too, and Have one "Cheat Day" a week but even that is under 2000 calories. Thanks :)

You're off to an awesome start! To be a bit of a damper for just a second..what I have noticed after a few years on this board is that people often are extremely gung ho in the beginning of their weight loss project, but their interest wains anywhere from a few weeks to a few months down the line. Then poof, they're gone and you either never hear from them again or often they come back months later talking about how they went off their diet and right back to their old habits. They usually gain back all the weight and always at least another 10 lbs on top of that. So I want you to be well prepared for the time when you will lose interest, and will start telling yourself you can have this or that because you've lost weight, or dont feel like exercising, and after a few times of doing this you just give up. Consistency FOREVER is really the key to this. Slipping up is to be expected and are just blips. Its when you totally give up that you're screwed. So when that time comes that you start losing interest, and for 95% of the people who come to our forum that is the case, I suggest you ease up on yourself a LITTLE (meaning eat at maintenance rather than in a calorie deficit) and maybe cut back the exercise, but try to maintain your new lower weight. That will mean that you are still eating well, but are not being nearly as strict as you are now. From there you can try to get back into losing, but just be prepared for this and try to maintain when this happens. In the meantime, you are SMOKING with your weight loss and that is awesome! Best wishes to you :).

Thanks! And i know what you mean :)
It's not just my weight, but the way i live which is dawning on me. I'm trying to have a LifeStyle Change as well as Losing weight :)

Hello...

I am also a very bad overeater!!! I have started trying glucomannan, green tea, and cayenne supplements.. I've also heard that glucomannan and hoodia work great together. My problem was that I never would really feel full.. hence, keep eating till I'm stuffed, and I didn't want to put a bunch of chemicals in my body, so I spoke to an herbal specialist about what might be good to get my metabolism going, and what can make me feel fuller so I'll want to eat less... that is a natural supplement and so far the mixture has been doing pretty good, I noticed right away when I took them that umm.. well I had to go to the bathroom :blush5: But it wasn't like a bad feeling that I would get with the other more chemical man-made stuff, so so far so good... I'll update you and let you know exactly how it goes over time, but it doesn't hurt to try it ;) Best of luck to you and I'll be seeing you around
