Weight-Loss No binge, no purge - one day at at time.

Weight-Loss
Isn´t it always? Sometimes it´ll feel effortless for a while and I´ll wonder why I don´t always eat this way but I´d say 75% of the time I need a push.

LaMa if you could capture the feelings when we eat well and bottle it and take it everyday it would be great .
Didn't binge yesterday but I was hungry. However I did eat well.

I read an article yesterday that eating carbs make you hungry. I did often wonder on the SW diet why we are allowed rice pasta and potatoes freely ( not bread products ) . I might cut back a bit on them if I thought it was true

Simple carbs with not a lot of fiber and protein added (say a plate of white pasta and tomato sauce) do make me more hungry but add in the nutrients and it both slows down the absorption rate (ie less blood sugar spike because the insulin response doesn't overshoot as much) and gives my body something to work with.

I'm sure it's not the same for everyone but I say if it doesn't do you any harm why restrict something delicious?
I did not binge today.

Sounds like Petal and LaMa are doing well. Good for you.

No binges on my trip, but I did find myself grazing, something new to me, or new since the diet. I have decided to try and stop that, snack grazing has often lead to binges in my past.

Lets not binge today.

Sounds like you did very well. It'll probably be a while before your body gives up trying to get you back to your old weight with every sneaky trick in the book.

You are right about that, today I was craving for a long time, worst in a while. I think I ate well on the trip, but I may have gained a little. I'll see what the next couple of days say.

No binge today, but those cravings were bad.

Let's not binge tomorrow.

I think grazing does make you want to eat more and it leads to weight gain never mind a binge so it's good to try stop.

Sounds like you have managed well.
No binge yesterday lets go for another good day today .

I definitely do better with three square meals with possibly one reasonable snack if my calories are low.

Good for you Petal, and I agree with you on the grazing thing. I have managed not to for a couple of days now, will try to keep it up.

Thanks LaMa, and you are probably right about the 3 square meals a day. I have been having a larger evening snack for a while. When I upped my calories I kept eating the same for my first 3 and added the calories to my evening snack. When I get back from Louisiana I will try to add the calories to the earlier meals and reduce the evening snack.

No binge here yesterday, and the cravings were much less.

Let's not binge tomorrow.

I was very tempted to binge this afternoon, in part because of Friday destressing and in part because I was a bit nervous about going out during a pandemic. Ended up having a 250 kcal icecream bar instead of a 2,000 kcal box of chocolates. Big win. Dinner was probably high-calorie (maybe 1,000 kcal?) but nowhere near a binge.

Hey LaMa, that is great, a little ice cream is a lot better than a box of chocolates. No binge is the only good binge.

No binge here yesterday, I was pretty busy and had no strong cravings. But that desire to keep eating at the end of a meal does not go away.

Let's not binge today.

Does it feel the same even when you eat to the point where you know you need the calories but it´s so much food it kind of feels like a binge? I think you mentioned that a couple of times; do you still feel like eating more then?

Yes, it is pretty much the same no matter how much I eat, unless I give into a binge and even then its more often running out of food or discomfort that stops it. Thanks for asking LaMa.

Off to the airport now, probably not able to post here for a few days.

*Puts on pointy ears* Fascinating. I am so curious to see if that stays the same after you´ve been eating at maintenance for a year or if it´s really something you´re just born with and have to deal with for the rest of your life.

My binges are totally different. They never occur around a meal . More afternoon urges or late night urges . Afternoon can be caused from tiredness , stress or various emotions .
Evening can be from probably just it’s a nice thing to do watching tv .

Mine can start at any time but usually in the afternoon when I'm already kind of tired and maybe slightly hungry.
