:) Hiking with your lost weight does sound like good motivation. About drinking water in cold weather: you could have herbal teas. Or just hot water with a squeeze of lemon juice, some spices, or something like that.

I haven't posted up here for a while. the christmas season is finally past, wohoo! my diet has been yo-yoing all over but my weight hasn't gone totally crazy yet. I'm back at my weight loss plans again I ended up going through a real weird spell of brain fog, depressed attitude, and couldn't concentrate, and horrible insomnia about 4 weeks ago it lasted a couple of weeks took everything I had to stay out of the bottle. couldn't figure out what was wrong. talked to the doc it had to do with my previous alcohol consumption he said that can hit off an on for months (there is some 50 dollar word for but I can't spell it), o well took years of abuse to get in this shape probably will take a couple to get better mentally and physically. so still dry and weighing in at 287 hope to be on here more often

You have done really well to get through what sounds like a very difficult time. Well done :)

Great work staying dry through all of that (including Christmas!); looks like you´re in it for the long run :)

Great job staying dry! It can take 3-6 months for sleep cycles to get normalized after quitting drinking. For me, it was about 4 months until I could get a good night's sleep. Just tough it out and it will pass.

I havent been on here for a while but I stepped on the scale last week and was back up to 300 lbs. Im still sober which I figured was more important than my weight so I have consetrated my efforts on my sobriety. My brain has finally cleared up and I can watch others drink without horrible cravings and i understand why I drank so much and couldnt stop. Enough of that crap. What Im trying now,I was doing basicly the old atkins diet lost down to 280 but I cant eat another egg. so im trying another diet. I have been doing the intermidate fasting diet for 7 days now, fasting for 23 hours eating for 1 and it seems to be working for me so far. blood pressure and blood sugars are staying stable im going to give this another week and see how I feel. Im going to work on my weight for the next few months I want to get down into the 270s by september so I will come in here and ramble

Congratulations on staying dry and finding your way out of the fog! I think you´re right about that being more important than your weight. About the choice of diet: every diet "works" as long as it´s something you feel you can stick with and something that gives you enough nutrients. Best of luck.
