I know that feeling Rachel - the only fruit I actually really like are bananas. Everything else just gets left until mould starts to form then out it goes lol

I know I should make more effort, but bananas is what I like

Woo, well done on the steps :) that's really good going

You probably saved over half the calories there, well done! I´d suggest buying only one or two kinds of veggies for now (cucumber? tomatoes? bell pepper? lettuce?) and have them be stuff you enjoy and can simply be put on top or to the side of whatever you´re eating already so it doesn´t actually add more work and your fridge isn´t full of sad veggies that make you feel guilty a week from now. Always better to have a little bit and use it up than a lot and throw it away :)

I bought some fruit for lunch today, think I'll get some baby plum tomatoes, lettuce and red onion tomorrow for a side salad to my dinners / lunches, have you come across any nice low calorie dressings for them?

I usually just mix a bit of salt and garlic with the juices of the tomato - but then I´m a weird person :)

Unfortunately, my favorite vegetable is beef tacos.

Well, I had a few bad days over the weekend meals wise, but I did make an effort not to snack in between at least.. lost 6 lbs since the 1st January which seems unrealistic, but that's what the scales say! Anyway, been back to eating healthy as from yesterday! I've realised my problem is that I eat out with my boyfriend/friend 2-3 times per week, and I give up on the diet if I plan on having a big meal out.

Tonight I plan on having the vegetable spiral spaghetti and a low calorie starter instead - my first healthy meal eating out. I hope I like it because it would be really good to have found something which means I can still eat out with friends but be healthy at the same time. Does anyone have any favourite healthy meals at specific resteraunts in the UK which they like that aren't the standard salad?

Also, found a new favourite for healthy ready meals in Icelands slimming world range!

Hi, Rachel. If you ask to have any sauces on the side that helps in restaurants. Ask for extra veg instead of chips. If you have Chinese food, ask for less rice on your plate. There are so many things you can do & still really enjoy your meal. 2 starters if you're hungry is still a better option than being tempted by dessert. You'll find a way :)

I tend to eat out once a week but I haven't found anything that satisfies yet is low in calories. My calorie limit is probably much higher than yours so this may not be a great option, but I tend to compensate by having lower calories elsewhere in the day and/or surrounding days.

I love Iceland lol! Not only do they have some good food it's often so cheap too haha!

I avoid things with fries as I can never bring myself to choose to have salad with them haha, the starter I ended up having I wasn't sure about, it was tomato and torn mozerella, it was nice but really poor value for money compared the the other starters on the menu, might have soup next time x

Well done Rachel :)

The chicken and chorizo pasta meal from there is amazing!

Does anybody have any advice for what I could eat differently but still feel full? I.e. Some healthy but bulky snacks to fill me up... I've had porridge for breakfast, a ham sandwich on brown bread for lunch and a yogurt, and casserole lean beef with a small jacket potato for dinner and I'm feeling quite hungry still

I also did a hour walk home from work (which is quite bad since it was only 3 miles)
Hey Rachel,
My grandmother was obese....my whole childhood...she was a small woman probably between 250 and 300 lbs.
Then she had a heart attack...the doctor put her on a diet and made her walk 3 miles aday....it took about a year...and she was down to 119. She was so proud of herself. You can do this!

I have been reading about eating and fasting. So, what I am trying is a 12 hour eating window. If I start eating breakfast at 6am...then I end my eating at 6pm. I'm also counting all my calories. It isn't that hard and it keeps me focused on the goal. I put my info into a fitnesspal app and I enter everything there. Basically the way the Window goes is...eat whenever you are hungry...eat healthy foods and not snacks and keep a total of the calories you take in...that way you can make choices.
For instance: this morn so far I have consumed 306 calories....I have about 1600 more I can consume before 6pm.

Anyway....good luck...we are going to do this thing!

I'm struggling today - how's everyone else doing? Back in the office and there's a box of after eights, box of quality streets and a big bag of Cadbury caramel mini bites - lovely presents from the management - but it's really making me struggle! And these are just mine by the way, everyone in the office got the same - if it was between us it would be much easier to resist. Think I'm going to put them away when I get home and maybe have one chocolate per night as a treat with my low calorie hot chocolate.

Anyway, happy new year guys!
Hey Rachel. Read your post about chocolate and it reminded me of my struggle at the office this week. This is a new building for me, so I wasn't aware that there is this table, you must pass to get anywhere, that always hosts some homemade treat. I was proud of myself for walking past homemade chocolate fudge (what?!) 4 times and leaving the office for the long weekend without taking any. My motivation? As one of my small changes, I'm trying to make it 30 days without treats. Didn't want to ruin my streak and I don't think my body wants the sugar so much any more. I'm not seeing it so much as a diet as a challenge that might help me get out of bad habits and routines. Let's see how it works.

Well it’s been a few months of on and off dieting where I haven’t gained anything but neither have I lost any weight. On Monday I started the slim fast diet, which I have mixed emotions about as I know there is more satisfying food for the amount of calories - but I like how everything is quick and I don’t have to think about anything. Has anyone else had success with the slim fast diet?
