Weight-Loss "Negative calorie" foods as snacks...

Weight-Loss
I also noticed my hunger went down when I stayed away from sugar.

I'd like to add that I read somewhere that it can take your stomach a week or two to get back to its original size after you've stretched it, which means if you binge, you're going to be that much hungrier for the next week. I found that as long as I didn't binge, I progressively got less and less hungry until now when I find that I generally only eat half of any meal I order at a restaurant.

I disagree with 0 cal snacks being a myth, but I don't think they're anything to put on a pedestal either. It's no way to lose weight, eating only celery.

I also employ the gum trick to curb cravings, but here's a trick that's not been mentioned: If you're worried about overeating the meal in front of you, eat the amount you feel is acceptable, wash your mouth out with some water, and pop in a stick of gum. Nobody wants to go back to eating a burrito or a t-bone steak once you've got the taste of spearmint in your mouth. If you're still hungry an hour after that, you can revisit the leftovers, but I find it's usually not necessary.

As far as the Negative Calorie foods; they DO exist

This myth has been debunked several times by several sources. Regardless of what you're eating the energy expenditure from chewing and digesting only takes away about 10% of whatever you're consuming. In addition, the whole premise of negative calories food is flawed to begin with, as KaraCooks argues:

"
It's playing mind games with math. So let's say as an example, that a stick of celery has 5 calories, and it takes you 6 calories to chew and digest them. I don't know if that's true or not, but let's say it is.

If you count the calories for celery like that, then why don't you also count the calories for chicken like that? If 4oz of chicken is 120 cals, then why not subtract the calories for chewing and digesting the chicken? If 1 apple is 80 calories, then why not subtract the calories for chewing and digesting the apple?

Of course you don't do that with all your food - so why would you do it with celery? Or jicama? Or whatever food some fool is saying is a "negative calorie food".

The caloric cost of eating food is already figured in your BMR. When you play math games with calories and try to "subtract" calories for chewing an eating - unless you're going to bother to figure out the calories you burn eating and digesting ALL of your food, then you're just lying to yourself and playing mathematical mind games."

Don't expect eating any veggies will help you to lose weight... Yes, they will satisfy your hunger and.. REALISTICALLY... you can eat pretty much as much as much as you want, without gaining any significant weight. You'll just poop it out. (good if you're constipated).
I don't really care if they are negative calories, or have like 10 cals per pound. Eat up.
I think Celery and cucumbers, and maybe plain lettuce fall into this category.
.....
definately agreed though. You really can't subtract those calories from your normal intake.
