I'm in the process of losing weight today so its my first day on this start. it's going to be a drag but i'm on it. Tell us ur story. and damnit ii need to find the journal section on this forum. :chillpill:

first weigh in!!!

Today i weighed myself and the scales say i lost ten pounds. but when i went to measure i had only lost 3 1/2 in. I know its a lot of things i could have done better and i will start, I was just wondering anyone knows what i an do next month to lose inches and pounds. I need a workout that is somewhat a challenge but not to hard, even though I am young my knees don't feel the same. so i need a workout that is low impact on the knees but still give a good workout. I plan to start my new workout on Sunday.

cardio is better for losing weight i believe... i lost 15 pounds this last month just from at least 50 minutes of heavy breathing induced cardio. which for me is walking about 4 miles and jogging during little bits of it.

but strength training helps to build muscle, which in turn helps to burn calories...

i am just sticking to cardio for a few months and will add strength training once my weight loss starts to really slow down =P hope this helps ... it is working for me.

Thanks a lot. I hope I see results like you are. I just need to find a new workout because my turbo jam is boring and old now.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

i hope its amazing for you =D yeah its all about what works for you... ive heard alot of nice things about turbo jam^^

You just go to that sub-section and start a topic like you did in this subsection. I believe there is a sticky in that section with a survey you can answer if you need help getting you diary started.

A year later and still in the same position. I'm getting so frustrated with this because i don't know what to do. every time i think i can do it i mess up. back in November i went to the gym with my brother on a free pass for two months. i worked so hard and had no results. so that really discouraged me. I don't know what to do anymore. this is really starting to affect me. any advice!!!

The only thing that really works for weight loss is making the commitment to change your life. You have to start eating healthy foods in reasonable amounts and getting some kind of exercise.

Until you're ready to make a commitment to that, then nothing will change.

Ik. but this thing is easier said than done. I have good reasons to do this but no will power. and i don't know where to get it from. I see these other people stories and pictures and try to get motivated but it doesn't work. well it does a lil... I guess i need to dig a little deeper.

It's really not that hard.

Do you want to be fat and unhealthy or fit and healthy?

That is the choice.

Do you want to eat some veggies and go for a walk?

Or do you want to eat cookies and watch tv?

Until the healthy things start to sound like the better choice, people rarely choose to pick them.

I have never lost this much weight in my entire life. Looking back, I can tell all the other times I ever tried, I didn't really want it.
Oh sure, I wanted to be skinny. I would have done anything in the world to be skinny (you know, apart from actually eating right and exercising!)

If you had been motivated this time last year, you would be at your goals by now! Doesn't that make you want to push harder?
I hope you find your motivation.

sometimes, we need a scare to make us realize we need to change. I understand what you mean cause it took one for me to get modivated. How about just making a few small changes first? Take a look at what you normally eat and maybe you can reduce a portion or change a brand to a lower calorie brand?

:iagree:

Yeah....small changes. But keep them consistant. For example. No more sugar soda...only diet soda. No more sugar in coffee...only sweetener.

When those little challenges (examples only)get easy..then add another. But the point is to be consistant with the small changes. Sure the results will take longer, but the risks of failing are far less too. Which means greater chance at success.

Some people have to jump in this with both feet, some have to take baby steps. If you give up...you will never succeed. If you keep trying, there's always a chance for success!

Good luck!

Im going to keep trying. I know i can make small changes, so i have to get ready for the long journey.

Thanks everyone for the support
