My weightloss just stopped

I personally think you've hit your answer.

You are moving less weight therefore it requires less energy. Think about BMR and the jumps it makes based on weight and daily caloric needs, you'll see that the direct linear equation exsists, I bet if you put your values for the same bike ride over the years (or progress you've made) you'll see a similar progression. A TI83 graphing calculator does lists very well, and can do a linear regression calculation. You should have a positive slope.

Likewise, I'd say from unhealthy to healthy you wll obviously gain performance increases and muscle memorization tends to lead to caloric burn reduction. Less than via eating (not reducing calories after weight loss to accommodate less body weight) but I do not think Lyle believes that is an absolute like your implying.

So, yes your body is getting more efficient and weight loss have both contributed to your dilemma. I say post to th general workout section of the nice forums personally. Its an excellent question and if he dismisses it, you always have Alan you can count on. Remember the nice forums are for business purposes, if it's well constructed, he might not pass up an opportunity to defend his writing.

And let's wait for Lyle to respond (or someone else, which is fine), but I think you made a great point. I am interested in the mechanics of it all really.

He responded and your answer was pretty much exactly what you had already covered yourself. He simply connected the dots like I had previously thought in my posts above.

I think you get it, you just need to realize you do :)

It sounds as if your body has got used to the amount of calories in and exercise out. You will need to change up your routine a bit to get your body losing weight again.

Try changing your exercises, do you like dancing or take up an activity such as Tai Chi, or swimming, something you will enjoy doing.
Also reduce the number of calories you are eating as the weight loss comes down.
Remember when you were heavier your body need x amount of calories to function, now that you have lost a considerable amount of weight, you also need to reduce your calorie intake. Exercising in the morning does help to kick start the metabolism, so if you can go out for a 30 minute walk then, this should help.
Drinking green tea also helps speed up the metabolism. Drink green tea instead of fizzy drinks or juices. It can be drunk hot or cold. I put a little bit of cranberry juice in my green tea so that it has a different 'flavour' that I enjoy. Find the flavour you enjoy and drink lots...

Hope you find this useful

AM cardio is not proven to be more or less effective than PM cardio. If you have research to back up most of your statements, than I suggest you not bring them into this thread.

Uhh I havn't read most of what happened in this topic since I last posted and there are so many different messages can someone summarize what I should do?

What you need to do, if you care about educating yourself on "what do do" is thoroughly read the posts that many persons---spent FREE TIME in giving, and one member even going as far as soliciting a well known individual (Alan) and getting his thoughts on the subject matter.

Then when you are done, post some relevant and intelligent questions, on how to implement certain aspects to yourself and personal goals.

If you cannot afford a personal trainer, then you have to put forth ALL the effort yourself, and within this ALL, is educating yourself in what you are doing, and respecting comments made, and getting "seriously" involved within the discussion to assist yourself in getting better.

No one is going to do this for you (in general), unless you shell out some bucks, my friend.

Do yourself a favor, read through the posts (thoroughly), and post some questions, and ROCK-OUT!..........

Best regards,

Chillen
