my story of frustrated/not losing dilemma...

Omg hun im sorry I have been such a slacker; I haven’t been to your diary for ages. Your hubby lost his job, how is he is he ok? Has he found another job? How are you are you coping are you ok? Are you still sick or are you feeling better now? Ok 10 pounds by the first of March, I will do this with you if you would like. Just let me no mate.

oh my goodness, i am so psyched about this forum. thank you for all for all your support and rosered , no worries, but YES, ifyou want to do this together - 10 lbs. by march 1, that would be awesome!!!!! skinnykate and newleaf, thanks for the support as it is so much easier to knowthat when you do the 'right things' and NOT lose, at least you are not alone in that matter!! my husband will be fine, eventually. currently,no, out of work and confused, angry, etc....which obviously makes home life hard but it is bearable and i am positiive that we will get through this. i DO want to lose these 20 lbs SO BAD though, i feel like my patience is running thin (not like ive been good at that to begin with), but first things first - 10 lbs by march 1st. any help i can get, i'd love.....thanks so much.

...its just i exercise a lot and eat right and drink water and it just doesn't 'fall' off. it is very frustrating...
Are you relying strictly on the scale to tell you your progress? If so, take your measurements or try on a pair of pants that used to be too tight and see if they're easier to get into. I know it can get frustrating but you can do it! I remember the last time I was working hard to get in shape and I was feeling like it wasn't working and then one day, I was there... I'd reached my goal and people were noticing... It was crazy cuz it was like it happened over night... It's all working for you so don't get discouraged... remember your getting skinnier and more tight underneath the fat so you might not always be able to see it just by looking in the mirror or stepping on the scale but it's happening girl! :D

yes, i am relying on the scale but i know my pants are looser . something about that # on the scale is so self-defeating or promising if you can get there. thanks for the words of encouragement and i am going to stick to my plan...i figure if i am following the 'right rules' and not cheating, why should it not work for me and work for others? right? thanks. i appreciate the support so much....hopefully i wake up one of these days and am where i am working to be! :)

Hey loser pants is nothing to sneeze at! Honestly.. I think you should hide your scale. I need mine hidden, and Paula does too (again!). Its not the most reliable thing, and weighing yourself at the most only once a week is what I'd recommend! :)

But focus on the fact that your clothes are fitting better etc. Because it means it IS working. And the scale will move, before you know it.. you'll see 2-3lbs drop off. And don't feel poorly, I am sitll waiting for my scale to budge too, but my clothes are fitting a bit more relaxed and I know I'm on the right path for weight-loss. Besides..the slower the better they say!

Hey mate my start weight is 106kg for the 10 pounds challenge, I will let you no what that is in pounds as soon as I find out lol. I think I will start a thread for it in the club incase anyone else wants to join us what do you think?

looking good girl keep up the good work! YOU CAN DO THIS!

Thanks Red & NewLeaf, yall have been AWESOME. Keeping me inspired. Yesterday was a good day. My normal 'trio' pilates class because a private session due to others cancelling so my muscles are FEELIN it right now but it was needed and feels good. Calories came in right at 1200 (even with a glass of wine ;) ). I am just convincing myself that that scale has GOT to budge eventually. It just has to. Rosered- thanks for starting the 10 lb thread. I wrote into it and Im psyched to have that support as well.
Later!!

havin' a good day. enjoying watching football and eating veggies. veggies and lowfat dip - it helps not eat those potato chips! just got off the elliptical so didn't have to go to the gym. calories at about 900 so far but yesterday i was about 1400 so i'm thinking an average will work okay for the two days. weekly weigh in is tuesday so hoping for a budge!!

feeling frustrated. the roller coaster of emotions with weight loss (or lack of) is very annoying. i know, i know, the scale doesnt matter, it is how you feel! well, i feel like i want the scale to move!! why it matters, not sure...but it is like i need to SEE change. even the smallest bit of hope & something. i am doing the 10 lb challenge (lose by march 1) but 6 weeks puts me at over 1 lb/week and i'm not sure if i can do it. i think i do this right...with about 1200 calories (average), 4 days cardio (different intensity/duration), 3 days weight training, water, vitamins...what am i missing or doing wrong?

worked out on the elliptical and got some stress relief :D. and did some math ;). i'm thinking , if it aint workin' , change it, right? so , there has got to be the 'right' balance to find so that i can too (just like yall) lose 1-2 lb per week. there is no reason why i should be different here, just some managing the calorie expenditure, i believe...sooo, i'm changing my diet from 1200 calories to 1050 daily intake (as i dont want to go less than that and hit 'starvation mode') and if i add one more cardio session of roughly 250calories, that should boost me to 1400 calories less take in per week with an increase from 1000 calories burned to 1250 calories burned. maybe that will kick my metabolism into high gear....

what do yall think? did i think that through clearly and sensibly? thanks for the help.

i'm actually eating on average, according to fitday - 1150 so that would be a change of 700 less intake per week and 250 more out with exercise....

Skyler, I think its possible, but I'd be careful if 1050 is too low for your body in case it might go into starvation mode. I don't know what the actual balance is, because its a fine line. So adding more cardio may benefit you more than cutting calories. Good luck!!

Im more for upping the cardio, and keeping the cals.(i should take my own advice, but my appetite has been real low this week) Plus, I bet dollars to donuts your gonna see a dip SOON! betcha!

You do need to be careful dropping the cal too low...even on the biggest loser they go no lower than 1200 as you go into starvation mode & do not lose. Good luck.

i thought somebody posted that if you weigh 150, then they consume 1050 calories with LOTS of exercise during the biggest loser diet..is that not correct? that's where i figured i could eat that amount, but i defintiey dont want to hit starvation mode!! help??!! ugh. i was perfect these past two weeks and lost one pound. FRUSTRATED. time is moving by and i'm staying the same!!
