Thanks!!! Any tips as to what/which areas I can improve upon?

Diet and dedication to working out is starting to really change things in short periods of time:

Relaxed

Tense

My lats and ribs are starting to show more and more...I'm stoked. Still skinny though, lol.

I'm trying to stay lean while gaining strength:bodyweight ratio and size... Genetics are a bitch, lol.

No update in two weeks. My weight has been constant, at 156ish. So I'm not seeing any weight gains, but I'm seeing muscle gain.

Here's a slew of pics. I don't know how to take a good pic, so I just uploaded them all, lol.

*continued next post*

I'm coming along I guess. My arms are starting to fill out. My back is starting to cut pretty well too. I started concentrating on elevated push-ups and my chest is starting to even out up top if you can even tell.

My legs on the other hand, aren't gaining as quick, but I haven't concentrated on them as much, but will start as soon as an injury heals on the back of my thigh.

No, not an excuse, I can't move it to straight, and I can't completely bend it.

Probably should have gotten stitches, but oh well....picture doesn't show how gnarly it really is. Well, it does, but the pic has to be huge. It's fairly deep, and really only hurts around the knee where the skin always flexes and bends.....

I wanna do 80 pullups in an hour!

nice work.

p.s. TO EVERYONE!!! please notice that this cat spends more time in the mirror with a camera than I do. hehehehe

Gimme some credit now. It's not in front of a mirror (look at the tattoos), it's in front of a camera, hahaha.

I'm just surprised I'm actually seeing results.

Nice work man your doing good. How did you get those gashes?

Thanks man, much appreciated!!!! I'm trying to stay focused, but there's ALOT going on right now. On top of that, finally having a bike built up I'm wanting to go ride more, and am having much less energy(and time) for my routine as I usually go riding for 2-4 hours. But I figure I can make the biking my cardio instead of running...even though I'm using ALOT of shoulder/upper body, rather than pedaling.

I got those stupid gashes by slipping off the pedal of my bike and landing a trick tweaked. Really sucks and really hurts. I lose a lot of sleep because I can't get comfortable because I can't straighten my leg, OR let the wound get touched cause it hurts. So you can imagine the limited positions I have when trying to sleep. So it's not just affecting my legs, it's really affecting everything. It's getting better though. I keep slowly stretching it to increase my range of motion when sitting down. I actually have to walk with a slightly bent leg, lol.

I'm riding more now, like 2 hours a day. My shoulders are SORE from not riding in so long. I want to go out riding, but am afraid I'll be doing damage to my muscles, rather than promoting growth. I rode yesterday HARD for about an hour, then decided I should go work out. I did 5 x 5 pull ups, ankle weighted 20lbs. I then went home, and proceeded to do about 50 inclined push ups total, 10 x 5 weighted, along with some core exercises listed on BWC.com. the cycling is doing a number on my legs, but I'm still not able to anything far past a 90 degree bend in my legs because of the gashes on my legs, so riding is temporarily taking care of my legs. Well, the riding is also killing my core and shoulders...

So right now, I have no idea on wtf I'm gonna do. I want to keep charging on with my progress, but the type of riding I do (BMX) is really shoulder and core dependent, so I need to figure something out that won't HINDER my progress. I love to ride everyday, is my problem. When my muscles would normally be resting, I would be out riding...probably not good.

That leg looks mighty sore ... and things like that NEVER look as bad in a pic as they are in real life, so your leg must be a freaking mess.

As for the BMXing, when you like something, it's hard to not do it everyday, but I think you'll figure things out ;)

Yeah, my leg looks like hamburger meat, lol. It's pretty harsh, and hurts like a mother. Hopefully there's no muscle damage, lol. Doesn't feel like it though. It's my primary leg for biking (bikers know what I'm talking about), and don't feel anything in the "power" moves or when I pedal, other than the sore itself from my pants chaffing it.

Well, I guess I have to coincide my workout days with my BMX??? That sucks, cause I'm pretty exhausted by the time I'm done in either respect. The next day, especially if it's nice outside, I just wanna go ride.

I would ride longer than 2 hours (probably like 6), but I told myself I set a goal for my body, and I'm not going to break the routine and NEED to work out. Just sucks that I'm pretty spent from biking...and if I workout then bike, I probably won't be able to do anything on the bike, lol.

How bad is over-training in this sense? What can/should I modify so my progress doesn't suffer?

You can always try to do both, but you'd have to pull back on both at the beginning so your body gets accustomed to what you're doing.

Overtraining isn't a good thing. You'll lose stamina, strength and it can take months to get back in the swing of things.

If it's bad enough, your CNS gets overstressed. Your body kinda shuts down and instead of moving forward, you move backward.

The bottom line is your body needs time to recover. If you don't give your body time to recover, it's in a perpetual state of depletion. Your body can't function like that.

You can, however, work up to where your body is accustomed to the punishment you're dishing out, but again, you have to be smart about what you're doing to yourself :)

I've gotta split, so I'll try to get you more info when I get home in a few hours ...

It's raining today...well, in the afternoon when it's not 500 degrees outside with 100% humidity, it's the only time I can go ride a bike or train. So I inadvertently got a rest day today. Kinda bummed, cause now I'm addicted to both, and taking a day off sucks.

My diet has suffered these past couple days though. A LOT of events have happened in the last week where my mind is so everywhere else, it's bed time before I realize I haven't eaten anything all day.:speechless: I will literally be driving, and my mind thinking about certain things so much, that I forget where I'm going and have to pull over and look at what I wrote down to see what was on the agenda to get back on track. Sucks, but some things REALLY preoccupy your mind, and are pretty important.

I need to learn to take a break from all the thinking and stressing and just use that energy to my training. Both on the bike and my routine.:bncry:

On another note, I've got about 70% ROM back in my leg. I can come ALMOST close to being able to get into the frog position, but I CAN fully straighten out my leg. It's nice, and only mildly painful, lol.

Was browsing through some older pics on my PC and came across some pics from 2 years ago (notice, no ink) when I used to breakdance AND bike literally everyday. So you can tell from all the breakin and biking (but mostly breakdancing), my core was/is pretty decent, it just needs more mass.

Christ, look at how cut my torso was. Albeit skinny, but no body fat:

I want to get ripped like that again, but actually have some MASS behind it. So I know my body is capable, now I just need to get there.

Looking at those pics shows me how skinny I was, and how much progress I've seen in just the past couple weeks.

I think I've hit my first plateau. I was doing my pullups and usually I feel a nice tightness in my upper core below my armpits. I'm not feeling that anymore during the routine. Even with the weighted ones. It wasn't a bad tightness, but you could feel the muscles contracting around my ribs and my lats really tense. It was a neat feeling.

However, the push-ups and push-outs still seem to have an effect on me. After slowing down and concentrating on form with elbows out, and pushing the earth down, rather than myself up, I've noticed much more soreness and working of my chest and upper shoulders.

Need to change it up, or rest for a week and just ride. Maybe that's the reason I'm not feeling it is because I'm riding more???? Diet hasn't changed, if anything my intake is more consistent and denser with carbs, cals, and protein. Hmmm...need to change it up for a a month....now, I just need to figure out wtf to do, lol.

really nice man. we're built about the same. all i do is diet, run, and body weight workouts.

Thanks. Appreciate it!

I was supposed to work out today, but got tied up at work and with other nonsense. Plus I have to wake up at 4am...suck.

I've been trying to remap my routine so I can do a zig zag type workout, but am still looking at alternate exercises...BWC is a goldmine of info...I'm just having issues deciding on which ones to pick, lol.

do you use a weighted vest? i'm gonna probably pick up one tomorrow.

edit: actually i just looked at how much 40 lb vests are online and i think i might have to wait a while. i don't think i have an extra 200 dollars lying around :(
