Cohen's Lifestyle My last diet ever

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Well done Katydidnext

Yes the clothes speak for themselves don't they?
I'm not a weigher I just judged by my clothes but you really do notice the weight loss fairly quickly.

Sam:)

Sam you are so right. The clothes tell it all.

Katydidnext - before you know it the pj's won't be staying up at all (something hubby will probably enjoy).

Anyway keep up the great work.

Skinny hugs
Allana

I wouldnt stress about the milk in the coffee, milk is high in protien and low in fat. Just go for the 99% fat free milk (not the ultra light one that looks and tastes like water lol)

Its only 100 calories for a cup of that milk, which is pretty good :)
Besides, you do want to keep your calcium up.

Wishes

Please remember this is the Cohen's forum section, not the general any-type-of-diet forum.

Milk is not on the Cohen's program for the simple reason that it is protein.

Sorry, but generalist comments can really undermine new people finding their way into the program.

Glad you are losing weight your way.

This is our way - we would really like to just get on with it the way our program requires us to.

Thanks

Kristine

I'm with you Allana, there are a couple of messages on this thread that contradict Cohens. It is hard being a newbie and getting advice from people then realising that its not Cohens guidance.
Well as I put in the other post I am now drinking black coffee and all is good. Its my first weekly weigh in tomorrow,I know I'm not supposed to weigh until 4 weeks but I can't help myself.
My pj's are starting to get slippy round my waist already woohoo.

Hi katydidnext

Wishes is not on the Cohen's program. He is on his own program but likes to 'pop in' here and make non-Cohen's comments even though he has been asked - very politely, on numerous occasions - not to make comments which contradict the program.

Please - READ YOUR PROGRAM. If it is not in your Cohen's program or on your Shopping List you can't have it - yet!

Milk is an absolute No! No! because of the five hours between proteins rule. For the sake of a splash of milk - well, why would you bother! You could undermine all your good work just for one drink.

The program is not to be tampered with. How did we all lose our ten, twenty or fifty kilos? By being faithful to our programs, faithful to ourselves, and not allowing ourselves to be swayed by people who are not doing the program but who think they can be experts about it.

Everybody is very nice. That goes without saying. But I would not dare to presume to tell a dentist how to drill teeth, and I would not dare to comment on a program which someone else is doing.

We are doing or have done the Cohen's program. That is what we are here for. katydidnext, when anyone offers you gratuitious advice, ask them when did they do the program? If they haven't done it themselves, personally, not the lady who lives next door to the chap they sit next to on the bus, then just smile, nod politely, and ignore what they say.

The experts are the ones who have been doing this day in, day out, who have been in constant contact with their trained consultants, who read their programs, and who are diligent in it's application.

Good luck, don't listen to gossip, this is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

Cheers

Kristine

Thanks Kristine

I really was enjoying these forums so much, but tonights little effort by the gatecrashers has ruined it rather. As with wishes I think these guys believe in what they are saying but it doesn't help the likes of me who actually wants the little group of 12 year olds in the corner.

I'm not sure how to continue at this point. I may just have to give up the forums for a while until it all settles down. Why can they not just leave something alone when it is good? Can we not ban them or something?

anyway thanks for all your support.

Hi katydidnext

You will notice that our Super Moderators, newbride02 and maleficent have come to our rescue and tidied up after the playground bullies.

Never be hesitant to report a post which is rude, offensive, or causes distress to you or to anyone else. You can do this by clicking the red triangle which is in the menu bar at the top of each post.

The Moderators are here to make sure that everyone feels safe using the forum.

Now we can all settle down and get back to business

I am new to posting on the forum however have been on Cohens and reading this forum since October 06, I find your words of wisdom so inspiring and admire your commitment to hanging around as a mentor for current members. You have my personal thanks

I hate to harp on this but on this program (Cohen's which is what this forum is all about) we are NOT allowed any sort of milk while on the program. Milk can only be re-introduced on the re-feed program so PLEASE DON'T encourage the use of non permitted products.

Allana
Sorry I was not aware that you could not drink milk, I apolagise if i caused any trouble.

Milk is not on the Cohen's program for the simple reason that it is protein.
See above comment. Although personally i think depriving yourself of protien is a pretty darned silly thing to do.

Wishes is not on the Cohen's program. He is on his own program but likes to 'pop in' here and make non-Cohen's comments even though he has been asked - very politely, on numerous occasions - not to make comments which contradict the program.
First of all, clearly by the photo im a 'she'. Secondly, ive only ever made one other comment in the cohans thread which was nothin about diet but about xmas and it was very generalized. I think you need to lay off the elitist crap.

If i wish to offer my support, in any thread i want to on this forum, then i will. As i said earlier, i apolagise for not realizing you were depriving yourself off proteins for whatever reason. Perhaps you need to concentrate on your diet rather than attacking everybody.

I think we need to give wishes a bit of a break - I have read many of her posts in other threads/forums and she is always positive. She hasn't bagged the plan - but she can't be expected to know the fine details of it either

Wishes, we are not off proteins altogether we just have allowed amounts - and milk isn't on our list.

I think we have to remember that we are in a public forum and while the others that came in here last night are probably pot-stirrers I really don't think Wishes is.. It may come across to others that are reading that our plan is silly or whatever but WE know the finer details and shouldn't be offended when someone doesn't. I was told at the start to be wary of advice on the forums because it may come from someone unfamiliar with the plan. If unsure either check with your consultant or ask one of the regulars who you KNOW is on the plan.

That is not to say I am defending those who come in here and just bag our program.. I don't want them in here either. But i don't think you have to be doing cohens to share in the inspirational stories we all tell. This should be a positive way of supporting others with similiar goals - and it has been.

I am a big advocate for freedom of speech but there is also another choice that we can make and that is simply to choose the advice we listen to and that we take with a grain of salt. And if people chose to spend their valuable time bombarding us with epic posts as to why we should convert to their thinking - then perhaps they have too much time on their hands. We can ignore their advice.

To all newbies these past 24 hours of threads must look confusing as there has been posts removed - however it is like with anything - there is one in every crowd - please don't see wishes in the same light.

Hope everyone has a great day:D

Cheers for that :)

Each to their own so long as they get to their own goal its all good in my book :)

ok, I've decided not to let anyone spoil my fun.

I am so cross, I've got bloody tonsilitis, just as I'm about to start week 2. I'm trying to keep to the program but its actually really hard to eat at the moment. Also last week was only a practice and the curse has arrived with a vengance today, Ah well at least I get both out the way at the same time.
I tried making the chicken soup but could not quite get around to eating it. A bit gross I'm afraid.

hubby got fish out for dinner so I think I'll try the baked fish with mango and some soft vegies. Doc says my throat should be better by tommorrow am but I don't see how and also I usually lose my voice next so they won't be very impressed at work when I don't come in for 2 days.

As for the program I wake up at 6.30 to have brekkie then go back to bed for an hour, because my lunch break is at 12. Unfortunately I am breaking the ' don't go to bed until 2 hrs after your meal rule' but I'm sick, I'm allowed.

I won't weigh every day this week as I tend to retain water this week.
The surprising thing has been that I haven't craved sweet things as much as I usually do at this time of the month and I feel a little more sane too. I'm sure you girls all know what I mean. The hormones must be settling down.

anyways back to business cohenites

Hi katydidnext:)

A double dose the P's adn the flu.

but I hope you are feeling better today. Please don't be so hard on yourself it sounds like your doing the right things plenty of rest is important to healing.

Sometimes when you start a diet these things happen I know with other diets in the past like WW and especially Tony Ferguson I got sick within a fortnight and then I couldn't contine with them.

6 weeks into Cohen's and nothing major (touch wood) has happen beside a 24hour tummy bug.

The main thing is to get better then go from their. You are allowed Neurofen and panadol on this programme as well.

ATB

Sam:)

just a quick update.
tonsilitis gone, ttom over and all is good. I have just discovered that chewing gum makes me horribly hungry.Remind me not to do that again.

weightloss seems slow and steady which is good, I am still very very tired though.Hopefully this is a phase that will pass. Am starting to fit into clothes that I had abandoned a couple of months ago when I decided to hell with dieting and put on a huge amount. I have lost 9 kgs since Xmas so things are going well.

How is everyone else doing??

okay I'm back
3.5 weeks in ( ticker starts from a week before Cohens). I had to stop myself as I was weighing everyday and measuring everyday and getting upset when they didn't move. So I have not weighed for three days and I'm starting to wear smaller clothes.
It was so good I got called the amazing shrinking woman today.Hee,Hee
It is a slow process and I am still getting soooo tired despite having 2x 8hr slow release multivitamins a day.
I have been working harder at work as we have been busier so maybe thats it.
I can honestly say I have not deviated at all in the 3.5 weeks.Actually that a lie, My hubby had a birthday party and I had some saxby's diet ginger beer and only realised the next day that I can only have the schweppes diet ginger ale. I was so cross as I'd got those in on purpose.
I can't deviate as I can not be on this program any longer than I must.
We are having serious money problems at the moment and I nearly caved.but I tried on a ball gown that I soo want to wear at some stage and it fits, just. But the best part is that I have not got 3 rolls of fat around my hips that you can see under the dress. I tried everything 6 months ago with all the lycra corsetry that I could find to get rid of those rolls and wear that dress to no avail, and now only 3.5 weeks into this diet I have a wonderful outline. It feels so good.
My 4 week weigh in is on Monday but I weigh myself as we are too far away from the clinic. I really hope I have lost as much as I think I have, but I am learning that this diet is not about weightloss, but fatloss and there is a difference!!

well said - and good on you for sticking with it.

your tickers gives the impression that you are doing super fantastic

Thanks wishes, I'm hoping its even better by Monday.
