Oh, well done. Thanks for letting us know :)
Happy New Year!

would be curious if you have done anything to change your overall diet. while reduced calories and increased exercise works in the short term, you also have to look ahead. are you really going to keep walking 5 miles/ day for the rest of your life? you are doing great, but it would be good to start thinking about what your long term plan might be. something got you up to the weight you were. when you figure out what that was and tackle that situation, you will be much better off in the years to come.

i have also started eating a lot healthier than i was :) i used to eat fast food 2 times a day every day in large quantities. i now track my calories and keep myself at a 700 calorie deficit which i find to be quite easy and sustainable for the rest of my life. while i don’t expect to walk 5 miles a day for the rest of my life i also do not want to lose 1-3 lbs a week for the rest of my life. once i get closer to my target weight i’m going to cut the 5 miles slowly to 2 which i think i would be able to maintain quite easily . i appreciate the response because it’s important to think about the long run and not just short term :)

Good for you, cutting out the fast food - or cutting it way down, anyway. I think that quite apart from the weight aspect having fast food as a large component of food eaten would be pretty negative for health. And as for
it’s important to think about the long run and not just short term
:iagree: for sure!

I think both your short-term & long-term plans sound very doable. Out of sheer curiosity, how many calories a day is a 700 cal deficit?

most calorie calculators say i need about 2500-2800 calories to maintain so i’m eating about 1900 a day or less if i can :) ive also changed my eating technique and eat slower so that it fills me up more than if i’m just scarfing everything down really fast. if you have an more questions or tips please let me know :)))))

I wish I could lose on that many :) Eating slowly is a really good idea. I used to eat so fast!

I agree with Cate, eating slow really helps. I try to do that, but am not always as successful as I would like to be.

I also saw your Thank You post, very nice of you.
