Motivational sayings and/or affirmations.

You're very welcome :)
" Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend."
~Melody Beattie

“Courage isn't having the strength to go on
- it is going on when you don't have strength.”
~ Napoleon Bonaparte

"Excuses are the tools with which persons with no purpose in view build for themselves great monuments of nothing.
~Steven Grayhm

"The best six doctors anywhere
And no one can deny it
Are sunshine, water, rest, and air
Exercise and diet.
These six will gladly you attend
If only you are willing
Your mind they'll ease
Your will they'll mend
And charge you not a shilling."
~Nursery rhyme quoted by Wayne Fields, What the River Knows, 1990

Those who are too smart to engage in politics
are punished by being governed by those who are dumber."
~Plato
Australia has just voted in what I feel is the worst government EVER in our history!
We now have the most cringeworthy PM ever!
The old saying goes that you get the government you deserve *sigh*
Australia deserves better!

We'll get there!! Drip, drip......

"The drops of rain make a hole in the stone
not by violence
but by oft falling. "

“Over the last couple of years, the photos of me when I was a kid... well, they've started to give me a little pang or something - not unhappiness, exactly, but some kind of quiet, deep regret... I keep wanting to apologize to the little guy: "I'm sorry, I've let you down. I was the person who was supposed to look after you, but I blew it: I made wrong decisions at bad times, and I turned you into me...”

Never give up!

"Look at a stone cutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred-and-first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before."
~Jacob A. Riis

"Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!" "

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."
~Albert Camus

“He awoke each morning with the desire to do right, to be a good and meaningful person, to be, as simple as it sounded and as impossible as it actually was, happy. And during the course of each day his heart would descend from his chest into his stomach. By early afternoon he was overcome by the feeling that nothing was right, or nothing was right for him, and by the desire to be alone. By evening he was fulfilled: alone in the magnitude of his grief, alone in his aimless guilt, alone even in his loneliness. I am not sad, he would repeat to himself over and over, I am not sad. As if he might one day convince himself. Or fool himself. Or convince others--the only thing worse than being sad is for others to know that you are sad. I am not sad. I am not sad. Because his life had unlimited potential for happiness, insofar as it was an empty white room. He would fall asleep with his heart at the foot of his bed, like some domesticated animal that was no part of him at all. And each morning he would wake with it again in the cupboard of his rib cage, having become a little heavier, a little weaker, but still pumping. And by the midafternoon he was again overcome with the desire to be somewhere else, someone else, someone else somewhere else. I am not sad.

“What, if some day or night a demon were to steal after you into your loneliest loneliness and say to you: 'This life as you now live it and have lived it, you will have to live once more and innumerable times more' ... Would you not throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse the demon who spoke thus? Or have you once experienced a tremendous moment when you would have answered him: 'You are a god and never have I heard anything more divine.” - Friedrich Nietzsche.

I'm starting to debate whether quotes like these are motivational, or if it's me who consider them motivational... I can't change my past, but I want to build a brighter future for myself...

"Each man had only one genuine vocation - to find the way to himself... His task was to discover his own destiny - not an arbitrary one - and to live it out wholly and resolutely within himself. Everything else was only a would-be existence, an attempt at evasion, a flight back to the ideals of the masses, conformity and fear of one's own inwardness.” - Herman Esse

"Many of our fears are tissue-paper-thin,
and a single courageous step
would carry us clear through them."
~Brendan Francis

~Don Wilder and Bill Rechin

Self doubt- DON'T LET IT STOP YOU FROM BEING SUCCESSFUL!

These three steps may help you to handle and minimize one of the most common obstacles to success in any area of your life, especially weight loss: Self-doubt

Say stop - First up, when those self-doubting thoughts start to creep into your head say stop straight away. Disrupt these few thoughts in their tracks before they grow into big mountains in your mind by, in your head, shouting STOP!

Look to your past - After saying stop be real with yourself and ask yourself: How many times when I doubted myself or feared something would disrupt my new lifestyle did that negative thing come into reality after I still took action? The answer is usually, “not very often at all”. Look to the past and see how well things have gone many times despite those self-doubts. It then becomes easier to let go of the doubts or to ignore them and to focus on the more likely positive outcomes and to take action.

Talk about it - The third thing that may help when the first two steps have only worked partially, is to talk to someone close to you about your doubts. When you keep your thoughts on the inside they can become distorted, greatly exaggerated and not very much in line with reality or reasonable expectations. So let them out into the light. Just letting the thoughts out and saying them out loud can often help you to hear how exaggerated they have become. By talking about those doubts with someone that is supportive and encouraging you can get a change in perspective and continue on to achieve your goal.
