Most overrated/underrated exercises

oh I just thought of one exercise which is WAY overrated:
Dips

that's right, I finally said it! It's a good exercise and all, but comeone! Some people tend to think it's the all in all for upper body development, some have even said it's "the squat of the upper body"
It's a good exercise, but it's nothing more than just a regular compound upper body pressing movement on equal line with all the rest of them.

Do you think? I wouldnt say theyre overrated.

But i think it depends where your from, the people you know etc etc.
Everyone will have different opinions.

Like i wouldnt say dips are over rated, id probably say the opposite but thats just because of the people iv talked to personally etc.

all over I hear people say they are the holy grail of triceps training. what the hell? what makes them better than close grip bench press and bench lockouts? should you do dips? sure, if you want to, but you won't get anything from them that you can't get elsewhere. Not to mention that a lot of people just don't have the shoulders to do them without injuring themselves in the long run.

they can be a bit risky on the shoulders unless you have flawless form (and even then they might be bad) it also depends how much rom you use. some people just use way more ROM in the movement than what is natural for the shoulders. think of how high up behind you your elbows get raised when you do dips, now try to raise them there yourself just sitting in your chair, you probably can't do it. If you get more rom when doing dips than when just raising your elbows like that behind you it pretty much means that you let your body weight press the elbows further up and the shoulder into more extension (is that what it is?) than it really has ROM for.

I noticed a lot of people said tricep kickback. Why is that? I do those and my triceps burn. Is there a better one I should be doing that I don't know about?

I do tricep presses and pull downs as well.

skullcrushers (both with BB and DB), cable pulldowns, incline skullcrushers.
those are all hard triceps exercises, and they work good.
All of them are isolation though, I think that's what you wanted to know about, since everyone knows that pressing will give you the most bang for buck, isolation is just the icing on the cake.

Concentration curl while sitting on a swiss ball..

Seems like a good way to "pump up the guns" ..... NOT (In my best borat voice)

Muscle and Fitness asked guys like Arnold, Coleman and Jackson what their favorite chest exercvise was/is. Almost to a T, they said DB flies

They are brutal. However I recently read where the stimulation of the pectorals was much greater performing a bench press then a fly. You can also use more weight on a bench then a fly though.
