Sport midnight hunger

Sport Fitness
hmm, i noticed when i did my first full body workout ( + HIIT!!!! ), i ate good all day...steaks mmmmm. ate some cottage cheese before bed, but i woke up in the middle of the night, im pretty sure i was hungry. but i just stayed in bed and just fell back asleep. i really felt like i should have eaten though. next time if i wake up, i will but. any thoughts? if i do wake up, what range of calories should i keep my...meal?...in between. ( went to bed about hmmm 12:00, woke up about 3:00 )

Remember eating raises your metabolism, it may cause you to have trouble sleeping. I really have no good advice on this situation, I've never experienced it. Maybe try drinking some water if it happens, see if the hunger pangs subside.

i always believed that if you wake up hungry, you haven't eaten enough during the day. check and see if you had enough calories. i wake up every once in a while hungry too, and i usually have something like cottage cheese, yogurt or a glass of skim milk. that usually does the trick.

probably waking up hungryis very different than hungry at night.....the body should wake up hungry! that's the origin of breakfast! i had to train my body for that, with pregnancy...it's normal and healthy..whereas the midnight munchies are NOT necessarily!

I gota a couple for ya here -

1. As SkiChic said, check your intake. How much you are eating and when may be a factor.

2. When are you working out and doing your HIIT? Is it before you go to bed?

well, i did it again. and i know it wasnt my intake. its been happening on days when i do full body workouts. this is what i had yesterday for my intake. i didnt really count my calories exactly, but im pretty~ sure i had more than enough. (my calculated intake is 1777, so i just say 2000, and eat over 2000)
and i know dam sure it wasnt my intake. this is what i had that day.

(full body + 15min moderate bike)

morning - chicken breast, pear, chugged milk out the gallon ;)
t+4 - 1lb steak, pear
t+2.5(pwo) - pumped about 3 chicken breasts, pear
t+1.5-2 - pumped some more chicken breasts (i cooked 2.60lb for the day, and had less than lb left at the end of the day) peice of whole wheat bread
t+1.5-2 - tbspn of natty pb on whole wheat, chicken breast, pear ( i love pears, fruit in general, it fills me up  )
9:45 - ate half a tub of low fat cottage cheese.

(i may have left out a few things i ate, but thats even more calories. whole wheat = stone ground)

fell asleep at about 11 waiting for my girlfriend to call, passed out. woke up at about 1:30. did *69 on the phone, and she called at 11:38, darn . i didnt wake up and think about eating, just about my girlfriends call, went to lay in bed, dont remember how long it took me to fall asleep.

was my intake good enough? i was drinking mucho mucho water, and took my multi-vitamins.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MMYYYYYY GOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!! ive been drinking water, i woke up and had to go to the bathroom both times!! like every 5-10 minutes during the day

you mean it interupts whatever your doing  but yeah, im pretty sure it was me having to go to the bathroom. i drink atleast 1 litre ( deja blue bottle ) with whatever meal i have. and thats atleast, usually more.

Ok, check this out...

When do you have the BEST ideas of your life? ... the bathroom.
So why wouldn't you welcome genius with open arms? I'm pretty sure, the more trips to the bathroom, the smarter you become.

was a little hesitant to bring this up, but, since you brought up snorting a vitamin  then i must disagree here. when i get high, thats when my best ideas. i can remember myself being so excited at these inventions i thought of, on several different occasions. but of course forgetting it a few minutes later. sad. was always too lazy to write those things down, no matter how much i told myself

It's not a good idea to do HIIT and a full-body work-out on the same day. You have to treat HIIT like a weight-training work-out - do it on your lighter days, or on your off days.
Because you did so much intense activity, your metabolism was probably racing and that's why you woke up hungry. You should try to reschedule your HIIT work-outs.

could i have a schedule something like this
day 1: full body
day 2: HIIT
day 3: rest
day 4: full body

does it matter which day is rest and which day is HIIT, would it be better to have a day of rest after full body? then do HIIT the day before my next full body?

whatever's easiest for you. Or, like I said, you can do them on the same day so long as it's a lighter day for lifting.

what time of the day do you do your HIIT?
