Martin Katahn's Rotation Diet?

It's been a while. Turns out the back and neck and shoulder pain was caused by stage 4 bone cancer that had metastasized from the breast. Drs. say can't be cured but can be treated - plus nothing is impossible for God to heal. I've had radiation on the back, plus a titanium pin put in the left thigh to prevent breaks from thinning bone there, followed by more radiation to that area. My spine in the neck has also been weakened by the cancer - too weak to be sure any surgery and pins would work. The radiation doctor wasn't sure he could pinpoint the area without causing some side effects like permanent loss of the ability to taste. So I chose to just wear a neck brace, plus the brace I wear for my back. You get a lot of sympathy and door openings when you go out in public like that. Since then I've learned to cover the neck brace with a bandana or scarf and get treated normally. Had a CT scan recently and the spine has improved but there are more tumors is the right hip and the liver. However all those treatments plus a shot and medications I take monthly (and God's help!) have improved the pain to the point where I don't need any pain medications! I did lose weight down to the low 150's but have slowly put some back on since feeling better. Now in the high 160's - which is lower than my previous goal but I'm also shorter now. It's spring and I feel like getting back down at least to the low 160's so after reading the last posts here I go again. Starting with a week alternating 1400 and 1100 calories.

Hey Aloe - sorry to hear about your cancer, I'm glad they have got the pain managed for you. Putting on weight must be a sign you feel better! I'm not sure where you are from..is lock down in your area affecting getting out and about much or your appointments with the doctor?

Hi Aloe and welcome back. Cancer is an absolute §$%&# and I´m sorry you´re dealing with it. Best of luck with your goals.

Hi, Aloe & welcome back to the forum. Cancer does suck but it's good that you have such a positive attitude. I am glad that you are not in pain xo

Hey Aloe, I am new since you were last here, so it's good to meet you. I agree cancer sucks and I am sorry you have to deal with it.

I am quite impressed that even given your situation you are working on your diet. I guess it is one thing you can control. And eating well can't hurt and it might help. You should feel better anyway.

I'm pulling for you on this cancer thing, and your diet!

Hello, Aloe - I'm another "new" person, arriving 2019. Good to meet you, for sure, but I'm very sorry you've been hit by cancer. Best wishes for the treatment to continue effective - that's great that the pain has hit new low levels.
And best wishes too, for excellent, enjoyable, healthy eating! See you in the 160s Club, when I get there! :D
