Mainly Eating Vegetables Program

Last few days I have still been eating lots of vegetables but on friday about lunch time I didn't feel too well....(dizzy and felt like I was going to have a panick attack) I have very high blood pressure and have to take lots of tablets :( ...so I took the appropriate medication but also felt I needed more food. I ate a couple of pieces of whole grain bread and cheese and felt better (probably due to the medication) but the bread was nice ;) . Friday night I ate quite abit and on Saturday I was doing well till dinner when we had chips and greasy potato cakes ( I had about 4)......thats 4 big potato cakes not chips :rolleyes: ...had lots of chips:eek: .
Sunday again lots of vegs.....Sunday night lots of cheese and I don't mean cottage.
Monday back to vegs....fish....ryvitas....nuts....grain..etc.:D
Today got my TOM.....but good news still sitting on 148 lbs so I think I can say that this way of eating is working for me.
So now for the next and last 10 lbs.....hopefully by the end of Sep...( doctor did say to do it slowly ) and this it how I want to eat most of the time anyway.
I won't be doing the FSD club as I think I don't eat enough on Thursdays because of the weigh in...leading to feeling unwell. We live and learn.

Great job on your weight loss......reading this thread has been very inspirational for me. I'm going to the grocery store tonight! It's going to be very hard to pass up the veggie dip section though......:eek:

Question for you - - how much fruit are you getting? And what is ryvitas?

Ryvitas are a wholegrain cripsbread and the only ones I like because they take longer to eat. As for fruit...no I don't eat any fruit unless it's tomatoes,(just don't like fruit) I get enough sweetness from carrots, and I just don't have a sweet tooth infact I think the only sweet thing I have eaten in the last 6 weeks is a small piece of cherry ripe. My main thing is to mix the vegetables with interesting sauces....like today I made more bolognese sauce and I have a tablespoon mixed with my veggies each serve.

I was going to say Ryvitas were kangaroo gizzards that have been dried in the sun for 3 months...but I thought maybe someone would believe me other than an Aussie.:D
 
:p Yea = I would have believed that! Cuz you threw 'cherry ripe' in there and I have no idea what that even is! :p
 
Finally, I have got to 140 lbs:) .......yes I know it took me long enough. The reason is that I would loose 1 or 2 lbs and then eat my maintaince calories for afew weeks....then I would cut back, loose another 2 and maintain that again. Anyway 18 lbs GONE and am still eating heaps of vegetables. Hoping to get to 138 lbs by xmas.:D
 
Just don't forget your PROTEIN, especially if you are also exercising. Humans cannot synthesize our own protein so we have to "steal" it from other sources. Your muscles get broken down every day and your body has to repair them. If no protein is available, then your body will break down lesser used muscles to do the repairing. Obviously this is bad, yet many people doing the veggie thing end up being protein deficient, it never crosses their minds. Just make sure you incorporate protein sources such as beans on a regular basis. Soy protein products such as powder or soy milk are good too.
