Hey everyone! (this is long sorry)

Just looking for a little bit of guidance and advice....This is my situation... In July of 2007, I started my lifestyle change. By December of 07 I had lost about 40 pounds, I went from 240-200 pounds. It's now March and my weight jumps from 189-191 now.

Problem is I have some flab on my upper arms, and the worst area, my stomach and hips. My legs are okay. I went from wearing a XXL to a L (XL depending on the shirt maker), and 40 waist to a snug 31.

I am proud of the weight I've lost, but since then I've gotten 'comfortable'. I do cheat maybe once a week or every two weeks for a meal (not an all day thing). I may have 2-3 slices of pizza, or eat a burger and small amount of fries at Red Robin or something with friends.

My issue now is by this summer I want an almost flat stomach. It's still flabby, I'm know some may be fat, and some may be skin. I've seriously slacked on exercise the past couple of months, my excuse is my job which is 12 hours a day 6 days a week, and when I get off at 830pm I am exhausted.

But I know I need to buckle down and work hard for this like I did when I first started. What exercises should I be doing to get rid of this stomach as far as cardio and weights go???

Weight Loss Through Exercise - Weight Loss Forum

Read all the stickies in this forum. It doesn't need to be rewritten several times. There is some TREMENDOUS information in there that will help you out. Its obvious you are taking in enough calories just to maintain you weight. You need to go back to what was working, reduced caloric intake while putting out more exercise. Simple equation (explained several times over these forums) that you could find easily with searching.

I can tell you from personal experience, that along with any kind of ab exercises you may enjoy, cardio in the form of a treadmill works. I run/jog on an incline and it's really helped my stomach area. Running, I think, worksout your lower body muscles and with them, your midsection. I could be wrong though, I'm not educated in these types of things, but out of personal experience, the treadmill has helped me tremendously in terms of trying to lose that excess belly fat.

Dude, I'm in your boat...I went from 250 to 205 and now im stuck as well lol..I went from XXL to L, and from 40 pants to comfortable 34 and very tight 32.

You can wear size 32 with 26 BMI? You're lucky. I'm proportionally only a bit more overweight than you, and I can only fit into a 36. Maybe 35 if I'm going for an extremely tight look. :(

With my BMI of a little over 25, I am in 34's... maybe 33's, not sure, never tried them. But, BMI is an antiquated system that doesn't really help with diagnosing or prediciting or judging anything... I am amazed its really still even used (as heavily and given as much importance).

BTW, I am 5'11" if that helps or doesn't :) I also wear my pants about an inch and half from my belly button... so, that might be the main difference for us. He might wear his considerably lower where his stomach overhangs the top of the pants. I am a firm believer in the "hide everything" method ;)

I did want to add this as well... I was also stuck at 215 for about 6 weeks. I tried everything I could think of... cutting my calories lower, working out harder, but nothing worked. Eventually, what did work was UPPING my calories... believe it or not. Too low and your body doesn't want to give up that fat... Since I've done that simple thing (which wasn't so simple, I had a hard time letting it happen), I've lost an additional 32 lbs. "Food" for thought.
