Lei and Goergen: Hell in Helmets

I suppose I should get myself a helmet and train in it like G does. But that's only because we're partners in this thing now. I'm not going to be seen driving or walking around with one :D.

Unless I'm mistaken, both G and I have our own competitions to train for until August. After then, my focus will be on getting bigger, stronger, and faster. Here are my current stats:

Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 160
BF%: ~10%

For the last few months, my emphasis has not been lifting. I cut down from 170 to 157 for a tournament in March. Since then I have not been lifting regularly in favor for grappling training and occasional strongman/caveman/crossfit type ****. So my maximal strength has gone down, otherwise I'd post my numbers.

After then, my focus will be on getting bigger, stronger, and faster.

You're damn right he will!

P.S. Post your numbers anyway. Also, 'sup.

Hello everyone. Sup Lei!!! We have a journal now.

soooooooo..... What do you want to do with this journal? I mean August is only in 10 days. So we have 10 days to plan. I guess we have the same basic goals, so we should be able to set up something sweet.

For everyone who does not know. I am "G". I am 295lbs and 5'10" tall. I compete in Highland Games. Where I am getting better and better.

Training is changing right now. I am focusing on strength, movement, and conditioning. With an emphasis on the throws. :D

I will post a plan when I have one. Here are the basics.

1. train 3-5 days per week.

2. throw 2-3 days per week.

3. lift 3-5 days per week.

The days are not really set. A lot depends upon what things are doing at the office. I know throwing will happen on Tues and Thurs and Sat most of the time.

I know Lifting will happen on those same days and possible on a couple more days that will be different every week.

Those are the basics. Lei, what do your think? What is your plan / week look like?

I don't quite know how much access I'm going to have to a weight room in the first few weeks of August. But my contract with the bjj school is up on the 20th, so I kind of want to keep training to highlight that until it's over. Still, after this week, my overall training is going to increase dramatically. Cause school's out.

Here's what I'm thinking:

lift/strongman/caveman 3x a week
jits it up 3-4x a week (until august 20)
After then I will lift 3-5 days a week
I'll be using a modified westside template, with high volume. Going to shrink the frequency a bit, as it ruined my life last time I tried high freq/high vol :beerchug:

G, what do you mean you will train 3-5 days a week? What sets it apart from lifting/throwing?

what do you mean you will train 3-5 days a week?

Some weeks may be 3 days, some weeks may be 4 days and some weeks may be 5 days.

What sets it apart from lifting/throwing?

Well, when throwing you throw things. When lifting you lift things. :yelrotflmao:

OK. The thing about throwing is that it takes up a lot of time. Each day of throwing is a 2-3 hour training day. Just when throwing.

I am doing some type of gym work on throwing days. If I do a 3 day training it will be all throwing days with some lifting after the throwing.

If I do 4 or 5 days of training the extra 2 days will be lifting days.

Good question. Lei, August 1???

How do you want to set things up. Do you think we should post our workouts in here? Or just the planning?

I have no idea. I think we will discuss what each of us needs to do. Come up with a plan, then start doing it. We may do some of the same things. But I think we will also have some things the are not the same.

AUGUST!!! hahahaha
why not just wait until the olympics are over. :newangel:

cool, and I got the top of the next page!! so your stutter start, PROcrastination, is in yo face!

hehheheee

August 1st sounds good to me. I'd like to post the workouts here, otherwise all our trash talk and fun stuff will be in our other logs. Yeah I don't think we're going to do the same things.

So far this is what I've gathered our plans are:

G- Train a lot. Throw a lot.

Me- Train a lot.

Sounds like we know what's up. I think this thing will take off once we start posting our training in here. For now we both kind of have a general idea of what needs to be done. The specifics come as we get into it.

G, you said you used to train for mma/fighting? What did that look like? How did you enjoy the competition?
