Just wondering what you take

Okay, so here's my list of goodies:

Glucosamine Chondroitin with MSM - formulary matrix that helps revitalize the cellular components within the joints. Glucosamine HCL to help build and support cartilage, Chondroitin Sulfate to bring fluid into the joints and help promote healthy cartilage formation, and MSM to synergistically enhance the benefits of Glucosamine and Chondroitin.

Coenzyme Q10 - antioxidant with a variety of benefits. Co Q-10 has been shown to support the cardiovascular system, cognitive function and nervous system health. It also plays a role in helping the body convert food to energy. Once a day, in the morning with a glass of milk. Best taken with a somewhat "fatty" meal for best absorption.

Astragalus - naturally occurring flavonoids and polysaccharides. A traditional Chinese herb. *Doesn't contain lead paint* (lol)

Tumeric - a common spice used in curry dishes, has become a popular herbal supplement due to its potential antioxidant properties, which may contribute to brain health.

St. John’s Wort - used for centuries as a tonic and is clinically proven to promote mental well-being and peaceful mood. They perscribe this in Germany to controll mood and have proven it works to do so. I have felt the results as well.

Mens Once A Day Multi Vitamin.

Flax Seed Oil - contributes to heart and nerve health while providing an energy source for the body.

I'm going to be adding Omega 3-6-9 (all three omegas combined) and a beta carotine to my line up. I also use whey protein powder on my workout days.

What do you use?

Side note, Puritans Pride () is having a buy 2 get 3 free sale foe those interested or just need to refill their stuff.

This is what I take:

1. Treating my mind and body as the continuous diet and exercise pill (this has no equal) WE are the magic pill.

2. Fish and Flax Oil

3. Whey Protein powder

============================================

Nothing else needed to get 8% or less body fat.

Fish oil capsules and the occasional protein shake

I'm not a big fan of suppliments, if you bust your ass in the gym and eat enough then you'll grow, simple as that

Well, It's a good thing I wasn't talking about these so-called "weight gaining" or "diet" pills. I just wanted to know what daily suppliments, if any, you used.

I've never believed in any of these "lose weight fast" pills cause they don't work. The only ones that come close to working are the ones that are similar to OLean. The ones that surround fat so it cannot be absorbed into your body (and in turn give you the trotts). But even with these, you still have to find a way to burn the fat you already have, i.e. working out.

I just take suppliments to support my immune system and give me added anti-oxidents, things to combat "free-radicals" which cause cancer, and of course a mens one a day pill.

Why take the spinach me popeye?
Did you know even though it has a fair bit of iron (not as much as we use to think) theres something else in spinich that inhibits iron uptake in the GI tract, so its no where as good as you think ;) - in terms of iron.

And im veryyyyyy sceptical about Glucosamine Chondroitin
probably at best a placebo

I don't. I have taken it on several occasions. It doesn't give immediate relief the way taking an asprin would. It takes about a week to two weeks before you start feeling the effects and having less pain. It doesn't fix any part of the problem, but what it does do is makes the problem lesser than it was. I would say that asprin is more of a placebo than Glucosamine Chondroitin.

Spinach was touted to have high amounts of iron because the scientist mistakenly placed the decimal one spot to the right giving it 10x the actual amount it has. I don't remember off the top of my head, but I believe someone here posted that.

The myth about spinach and its high iron content may have first been propagated by Dr. E. von Wolf in 1870, because a misplaced decimal point in his publication led to an iron-content figure that was ten times too high. In 1937, German chemists reinvestigated this "miracle vegetable" and corrected the mistake. It was described by T.J. Hamblin in British Medical Journal, December 1981.

Glucosamine Chondroitin as prescribed by my orthopedist, and Centrum multi... pretty sparse but I do alright with it.

Definitely agree with Lettuce on the glucosamine... I've been taking it for a while now, and without it I'd go right back to not being able to work out at all without it.

Do you take the one with MSM?

MSM: Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is a naturally occurring sulfur compound containing sulfur and methyl groups. It is found in the normal diets of humans and almost all other animals. MSM is made up of 34% sulfur, the fourth most abundant mineral in the human body.

MSM has shown benefits for a range of health problems including arthritis, muscle and joint pain. MSM has shown promise in the inhibition of pain impulses along nerve fibers, (analgesia), lessening of inflammation, increasing blood supply, reducing muscle spasms, and softening of scar tissue. MSM supports healthy, active lifestyles and benefits multiple structures and functions within the body, including connective tissues and the respiratory system while the methyl groups support energy production.

Study Shows Lignisul MSM Improves Recovery, Reduces Office Visits for Athletic Injuries

A recent preliminary study showed that people suffering from sprains, strains, and athletic injuries may benefit from the use of LIGNISULMSM (Methylsulfonyl-methane), a natural nutritional supplement that supplies biologically-active sulfur.

The double-blind, placebo-controlled study of 24 patients (both male and female), showed that those taking Lignisul MSM had a level of significant recovery (58%) compared to those on placebo (33.3%). In addition, patients on Lignisul MSM had 40% fewer office visits before recovery.

No I don't, but thanks for the info on it, I'll had to pick up some glucosamine chondriotin with that in it.

NP bud.

My wife got it for me when we first got together. She does lots of research on these things ever since she got out of the hospital the second time. She's weird like that about stuff and I love her for it. But man do I give her a stern ribbing every time she does it. LOL!!

At that time I had just finished a bottle of the stuff without it about a month prior. She gave it to me and it had a slightly better effect than I remember getting from the regular one.

Lemme know how it works out for ya when ya get it.

Yeah i need to get myself some flax oil !

Yeah i need to get myself some flax oil !

Flax oil just flat rocks! One MUST have good fats in the diet, BABY! Like carbs, fats sometimes get a bad name they dont deserve. And, you know what, Protein is over hyped. It is necessary (Of course, who would of "thunk it"!), however its JUST ONE PIECE in the LARGER pie. Its the "total" package that builds muscle, not just protein.

Good morning, Smith......are you still the fricken MACHINE! You had better be!

I will be CHILLEN on you.......QUICK! HEHHEHEHE

OH!

One more thing:

ROCK ON!

Chillen

fish oil

flax oil

whey protein shake

centrum multivitamin

don't be dissin spinach:). The vitamin A and antioxidants in it keep you from getting sick. I eat a ton of it in my salads for lunch. I haven't gotten so much as a minor cold since I've been on my kick for the past 2 years LOL

now that I say that I better knock on wood.

Personally, I think taking too many pills only lead to trouble. However, I do take some things, and here are my explanations for taking them....

* Multi w/ iron - Personally I take a multi because it kind of makes me feel good. Even though my nutritional choice allows for a variety of food, I still take a multi for the heck of it.
* Fiber Crackers - Okay, I don't really know why I'm taking this. I'm thinking about stopping since I eat plenty of veggies and fiber rich food. However, on days where I feel that perhaps I won't eat enough fiber rich things, I chew on a few crackers.
* 100% Whey Protein - I haven't taken this in a long freaking time. I usually have on post workout on my weights days. However, I have found an interesting new way of getting protein after a hard workout: Met-RX protein bars. It provides 32g of protein, and provide a lot of calories to keep your energy up. Personally, I take this/eat like one or two times a week.

However, all of the above can be solved using the following solution:

* A pack of beef jerky or my favorite, the burger bomb: Ground beef mixed with spinach, onions, mushrooms, topped with cheese, lettuce, and whole grain bread.... makes for interesting trips to the bathroom a few hours later.
* Blending together yogurt, fruits, and flax seed
* V8, a bowl of whole grain waffles, with a large slice of bread.

MM-mm.
