Jove and Skian: The Power Couple's Path to Perfection

Okay Skian, it only took 'just about forever' but here I am starting off our journal.

This weeks challenge will be to add this to your weekly workout : (three times this week)

50 Rope Turns
10 Burpees
10 Pushups
10 Bodyweight Squats
(x3 within fifteen minutes)

However on day two, bump up the workout...

100 Rope Turns
15 Burpees
15 Pushups
15 Bodyweight Squats
(x3 within twenty minutes)

Day three:

150 Rope Turns
20 Burpees
20 Pushups
20 Bodyweight Squats
(x3 within twenty-five minutes)

Can you hack it? Sure you can SuperMan! Let's push ourselves to the limit, and see our success!

Yay, us! :)

*looks around confused*

We actually have a journal now?!?! AMAZING!

Yay, us! :)

You couldn't have come at me with this challenge at a better time. I'm leaving for vacation on Sunday and can work through this at the beach, and it only requires a jump rope!!

For everyone who's joining us in our journal, Jove and I have agreed that we will provide new diet/training/general fitness challenges to each other every week. With my ridiculous and unpredictable schedule, this will force me to keep active without necessarily following a strict routine. Speaking on behalf of Jove, its a great opportunity to try different approaches to reaching her goals.

So far, the challenges are as follows:

SkianS40's:
Running 2.5 miles at least once a week (as of 8/5/08, completed)
The jump rope/burpee challenge (to be started)

Jove's:
1 Squat workout & 1 Deadlift workout a week
25g's of fiber per day

Please check back often as these lists of challenges will continue to grow and (within reason) our "routines" will be pretty intense. Any encouragement will be appreciated!!

iawtp... except for my not being special anymore. :(

Ian, don't be a pansy - while you're there, find a big tree and climb up and down it to get your strength training in. In between, do that other stuff. Without leaving the tree!? :D

Look what I found, lol...this is a picture of me at 18 years old... 140lbs.
Excuse the watermark and the fading!

This is me at 22;current weight, I have more muscle now that I ever did then but I want to lean back to before.

I ran straight to the store after work and got a weighted jump rope, aaaaaand....

Day 1 Jump Rope/Burpee challenge: Completed in 7:30...

... who you callin' a pansy now Focus?? :D

However, I am a pansy when it comes to this keto diet garbage. I've had a pounding headache for three days now! I don't know how people can maintain this type of diet for long periods of time???

Wow!!

Great Job!!! Aww...that was too easy for you!

...I did the challenge and got done in 9:42....

(those push ups kicked my butt but I did 'em military style baby!)

You're fast!!

:beerchug:

And as of today I have eaten 20 grams of Fiber...jeeze ...But I'll have a "Southbeach Diet" Pudding to add the extra 5....

Mmm Mmm Fiber never tasted so good!

:eek2: 'dats mah partner?!?!

I honestly think you look better now, but your goals are your goals and I'm just here to help facilitate :)

Here's a picture of me from February, caught in the act of being a goofball:

I bulked/chubbed up a bit since then, and i'm trying to get even leaner than i was in that pic. I'll try to get some good ones while i'm on vacation and have a tan.

I wish that I had skians' girl.

Also I possibly agree with your looking better now. The only way to be sure, though, is bikini/lingerie pics.

It's for your own good.

As for you, Ian, now do it in the tree and I'll be impressed. But only if you make monkey sounds while you're up there. :p

haha, jumping rope in a tree seems like an awful idea... but if that's what it takes for Mr. Focus to quit calling me a pansy!

... vids will not be provided.

I'm so gonna get blamed for you breaking your neck. Like I had anything to do with it. :(

But naw, I like that you are keeping at it while on vacation. Maybe you should set yourself some sort of longer-term running goal? Work on your conditioning a bit (in the absence of access to weight training facilities I presume)? Who knows, you may find a beach bunny or two whilst frolicking about.

Aww Focus....

I am nothing to be jealous over.:p

And Skian please dont try to jump rope in a tree. We need you in tip-top shape!;)

Oh and...!

Skian I was reading my amazing "Complete Book of Running" and I realized that I have slacked in my *running goals because I haven't HAD a goal. You know? I can run five miles but now...what? So I looked online and saw that there will be a half-marathon on October 19th, here in my town.
Its 13.1 miles, and I only have untill then to train for it...but...my heart skipped a beat reading the registration letter.

If I am to do it; I have to sign up by August 31, to keep it more affordable.

So here I am, wondering if I should take this on....kinda nervous...
~Is someone going to talk me out of it?
~Anyone?

What do you think big-poppa?

That gives you about 9 weeks to get in shape for 13 miles. It's do-able, I know you can acheive it.

Honestly though, I'm practically retarded when it comes to long distance training so I don't know how much i can help you... i'll do my best though!!

What do you think big-poppa?

I think that's better, ****er.

You kids could use some grown-up goals. :p
