iPOD used when running/jogging

Id rather the ipod shuffle any day. I use to tuck my itouch under my shirt but its just to big and slides right out, So i don't use it on runs anymore.

Anyone want an itouch for a shuffle???
:):)

I have an iPod nano, but the armband annoyed the heck out of me (didn't fit right, chord wouldn't tuck away anywhere) so I have a running skirt with a pocket built in to the shorts underneath that fit the thing perfectly, and a little hole for the headphone wire running up through the waistband. Just run it up and under my shirt and its out of my way, perfect =P I use the Nike+ system with it and it works alright - don't try to use those new wristbands with it though, my fiance went through two in like a month, the LCD screens give out for no reason.

Can't run with my video iPod, its too heavy and the bouncing makes it skip. That's why I bought the nano - got it on the Mac website as a refurb for a discounted price.

I had been using my iphone but it did not take to the vibrations well. I ended up buying a nano and its perfect. I don't use it on training runs for safety reasons but used it yesterday in my half-marathon and will likely use it for my full marathon in a few weeks.

I got last yrs 20 G ipod and keep it in my jogging pants and constantly freezes up on me, does it pay to get one of those arm bands to hold it. and forget about shorts, it bounces so hard against my thighs, i develop bruise marks after the jog. and re headphones, those 'in-ear' are an every 5 min ordeal of re adjusting that thing to stay in there..

im not sure whether it frezzes because its a actual hard drive and not a flash drive so it means it reads it from the disk rather a flash drive does not use disks. Do the songs skip when u run?

New iPod Shuffle

I just got the new iPod shuffle and it is by far a better option for runners and joggers than the previous model. The new shuffle is about half the size of the original, extremely light-weight, and allows for selection and playback of various "playlists" on the fly. This model actually speaks to you so you know what songs/playlists you are selecting without the need for a screen and the controls are at shoulder level in-line on the headphones. All in all, the best option for working out that I have come across so far.

I love the armband solution someone posted about above. I don't have one, but now I know it exists -I'll be looking for it - Thanks for that post.

The Shuffle is great if you want the smallest lightest iPod, don't have too many songs, and don't mind just playing them in random order. If you want more storage, the ability to have different play-lists, or the ability to choose a particular song, artist or album, then the Nano is the way to go. It's still small enough that it doesn't bounce around in your pocket. It also plays videos if you ever want that option, although on a small screen, so not bad for some video podcasts but watching movies is a stretch.

I also recommend Sennheiser headphones, as a previous poster did. I have the PX-200 model which is a small over the ear setup. I find I can't keep the ear bud types in my ears while working out or running, these stay on my head and have great sound.

Music with a good strong beat is a great motivator for running faster/longer, I highly recommend it.
