I spent two weeks in Idaho and have come back addicted to Kraft Mac n Cheese. So much delicious sodium *drools*

Clearly, I'll never be able to eat it ever, ever again as I only brought 2 packs back to the UK with me and when they run out I'm going to spiral into horrible, heart-wrenching depression that could seriously compromise my weight loss. :nopity:

Anyone else have that one food they know they can't eat anymore because it's just too damn good and full of delicious stuff we're not allowed because we are on the fat-wagon?

I've had to stop eating these foods COMPLETELY because moderation goes out the window when I eat them.

- Brie
- Kraft Mac n Cheese
- Mozerella sticks (which I also ate about 2 million of in Idaho.)

Damn America and it's lovely food that hates my waist line.

I'm with you on the Brie. A lovely warmed Brie spread on warm crusty bread ummmmm.

Whilst not very glamourous I used to enjoy a good old fashioned Doner Kebab with lots of chilli but thats now a huge no go, plus in the morning my mouth felt like something had died in it.

Mozzarella sticks.....mmmm........
Mac and Cheese..... mmmmm........
Mac and Cheese can be toned quite a bit in the same way you'd tone down an alfredo pasta. Add grilled chicken, and / or your choice of veggies, such as broccoli, cauliflower, peas. Also you can use skim milk and margarine or light butter or whatever to get it in to a managable sort of dish.

Mac & Cheese w/ Shells
Deep Fried Fish/Chicken
Pecan Pie!
Ordered Pizza

All of these things can be made somewhat "healthier" but there is just nothing like the originals ya know? lol

LOL!

Have to be careful around here, reading these kind of things could severely spoil my diet plan... :cuss:

You know what...I thought of that. Maybe I should delete my post before I fill someone's shopping cart LOL

Pretty much everything I like. Seriously, everything I can cook is out of the question right now, and probably will be. I tried changing things around, substituting certain ingredients, but in the end it just didn't taste right.

I hate cooking to start with, so I refuse to learn anything else....so most of the food I make at the moment is either very basic (chicken with a selection of veggies), or pre-made/out of a bag or something similar.

I figured that that's why I'm going from one extreme to the other - I either eat too much, or drop down to ridiculously low calorie levels. I'm an extremely picky eater, and if I can't have what I want, I rather grab a cup of coffee and go hungry for the rest of the day than to eat something else. Stupid, I know. *sigh*

Somebody free to kick my butt for me??

I loveee Brie cheese and macaroni, haven't had either since the holidays because it's so unhealthy :(

southern fried chicken w country gravy...

or steak cooked up the same way...

kills me knowing i cant have it, or feel like i failed myself after... not worth it ahha

Anything involving cheese!! I'm obsessed with mac n cheese! Also, being Italian, I lost pasta! Oh and Nanaimo bars (for non canadians, look them up) and worst of all, POUTINE!!!

You don't have to lose pasta.
Here is my post from the "Pasta" thread that Scottsblue started.

(I deleted my original post because I wanted all of this together)

Actually FiberGourmet pasta claims to be lighter in calories.

Here is an example of their spaghetti nutritional facts:
# 130 calories per serving, 40% fewer than standard pasta
# 18g fiber per serving - 72% of the Daily Value
# Nutrition Facts backed by actual laboratory analysis
# Convenient 1/2 lb packages with a 2 year shelf-life
# Kosher certified by the Kof-K
# 40% fewer "net carbs" than standard pasta
# Only 2 WW Points
(standard pasta is 4, whole wheat is 3)

Ingredients for Classic pasta (all shapes)
: Durum Semolina Flour, Modified Wheat Starch, Wheat Gluten

They have a variety of pastas. All of them have stats like I showed above. I haven't tried it yet. I just heard about this about three weeks ago. I am planning on buying some to try it out. The spaghetti I last had was 220 per serving. FiberGourmet is 130. It's up to each person to decide whether 100 or more calorie means anything to them.

Some pasta swaps are
-Shirataki Noodles (the tofu kind has more of a pasta bite)
-Squash Spaghetti
-Long Slaw

You could also use less than a serving of regular pasta and then bulk it up with something like squash spaghetti and it will look like a nice size portion.

You know you should really watch the Pasta episode on the show called Hungry Girl. There is a lot of good advice on that show about swaps or alternatives. Check it out!

I love pasta myself. Hope this helps at least a little bit.

Our brains get addicted to the salts, fats and sugars. Plus with all the chemicals in our foods that make you addicted... its a lethal combo.

Myself I love cookies. I try to buy organic cookies when possible... And poutines are disgustingly delicious. Yummy lol
