When I worked at the SPCA here in the US, one of the things we were taught in training is never to give someone a pet who has a landlord that won't allow it. It sounds obvious but this was because it was of the top 3 reasons we received cats and dogs (whether owners were dropping them back off or owners were bringing in new animals that we hadn't had before). Not following housing rules really brought in a lot of strays and adopted animals that can no longer be kept. I'm not saying that this will definitely happen in your case but I feel the need to express the general statistic.
I even did a report on this in my first year of college. Generally, people adopt with good intentions but reality eventually surfaces.
How ever you adopt, which ever avenue you take to receive a cat, please adopt responsibly.
