I bought a PS3 today!?

One of my friends was planning to sell his 60 gb PS3 to gamestop for a mere $220.

I thought that was crazy so I offered to buy it instead!

So I got the system, 2 controllers, an expansion fan thing.... 2 memory card adapters (to input ps2 data from ps2 cards)... and maybe 1 or 2 other small accessories.. for $240.

I am really excited for it, I don't think there are any games out for it that I want now, but I reserved GTA IV... I am thinking about maybe buying Resistance Fall Of Man too, but not sure.

So basically I just made this topic because I am excited and wanted to tell someone :p

I haven't really paid attention to the ps3 releases, but there isn't anything that is a must have for the system released yet, right?

Wow, you saved a lot of cash. good job. I'm not a fan of the Ps3 though.

Xbox 360 FTW~

Heh, surprisingly enough I agree with you. I would rather have an Xbox over the PS3, but I couldn't let this deal escape.

Plus I will get to play Metal Gear Solid 4 now...!

I personally build my own computers, and upgrade every few months. I love to game, even being middle aged, and having networked games with my grown sons: Its a friggen frag fest! And, I have them for breakfast! :)

I have close connections with several PC retailers (I am a network Admin/Hotel Manager), and get my hardware at cost...and not retail:

Currently this is the rig setup:

On the Game rig, its on XP, I havent made the move to Vista due to compatabilitiy issues present with some new and older games:

1. Quad Core extreme Intel CPU

2. 4 gigs of DDR 2 RAM

3. Nvidia SLI (2) Geforce GTX (2) 9800 (just purchased)

4. RAID 0 dual SATA (over a terabyte) of space

5. Creative XF-I Extreme Gamer Sound card

6. Klipsch 5.1 Ultra Promedia (500 watt RMS) PC speaker set

7. Sennheisser 595 Head phones (I also have the Senn 650, but I use the 595 because it has a lower OHM, and takes less power for volume, and is an excellent headphone)

8. KDS 22" Wide screen flat screem monitor

Of course it has a DVD/CD burner, etc, just listing the gaming interest part.

I wouldnt have this setup if werent for getting some of the main hareware parts at cost (Gaming cards are expensive). When I went to the quad SLI, I had to upgrade the power supply to 1,000 watts (up from 400W). And, had to upgrade my motherboard

Actually, I just have 3 internal case fans (8m), and a special high speed cooler for the CPU, and leave the tower case open, and runs within acceptable ranges.

I play mostly First Person Shooters, with Unreal Tournament 3 (Ware Fare Mode, online, and with my sons) as my favorite.
