Hypothyroidism, metabolism, weight loss

It seems to me that if you are on too much medication you have a bad doctor or you are not getting checking tests done often enough. Yes we know that it takes some time for medication to work through on your TSH results. That's why you should have tests at least every three months until they are well stabilised.

When i was first diagnosed, i think i had the tests every 3 months for the first year and then after that i think i only needed them every 6 months. If it takes longer to stablise then you'd need the regular tests for a longer period.

My levels were stable for a long time but started changing a couple of years ago (in my mid 40s). The change in med was only another 50mg per WEEK! but we played about with an extra 25g to find that right level.

Now i take an extra 25mg on mondays and fridays.

Tarna i didn't actually know and never heard that the hormone affects your bone density. I wouldn't mind seeing a link on that cause i have never seen it referred to with regard to thyroid hormone.

Also you have a lot of other conditions going on but does the doctor actually put forward that these anxiety conditions are related to your medication or thyroid condition. I have never seen or heard this mentioned before either.

I have a good Dr. After 12 years of being stable and on the same dose things changed. Usually most people need to increase their medication as they get older but for me, for some reason I have been having to reduce mine. I am one of these people that often have an opposite effect to medications. I have to be very careful if I take anything new. My mom and son are the same way.
