How to lose my Beer Belly? HELP!

Yeah thanks for that. Just needed a clarrification from someone with a little more experience thats all. He didnt say relaxed muscle. I said that. I cant recall what he called it. But thank you for all the support.

You said this (direct quote): You need to burn the fat off your belly (and other areas, of course) with cardio, THEN tone up with strength training.

I don't know how many effin times I have to say it, that statement does NOT mean that one is more important than the other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Omfg....are you seroius?? Strength training and cardio can be done in the same working (as i've said 100 times before), but unless you can bench press and do the elliptical at the same time, you're going to need to do one before the other. That's what the then means. How many times do I have to say it?? It does NOT mean that one is more important than the other!

Stop misinterpreting me just so you can prove a point.

Actually, for PURE weight loss, the value goes Diet, Cardio, Strength. You can't lose weight without the diet causing a calorie reduction. Cardio burns energy. Strength help reduce the loss of muscle.

EDIT: Kara's way of saying it was better.

I can lose weight with pure diet without cardio or strength training.
I can techincally lose weight with only cardio, but only if doing cardio puts me in a calorie deficit.
I technically lose weight with only strength, but only if strength training puts me in a calorie deficit.
I cannot lose weight with only cardio or only strength if I am not controlling my calories as well.

It's not even like a triangle. Strength training isn't even a must..it's to help reduce the muscle loss so between the two, cardio IS more important...diet is more important than both.

Happy monday :)

I would amend this to the following:

I can lose weight with pure diet without cardio or strength training.
I can techincally lose weight with only cardio, but only if doing cardio puts me in a calorie deficit.
I technically lose weight with only strength, but only if strength training puts me in a calorie deficit.
I cannot lose weight with only cardio or only strength if I am not controlling my calories as well.

(And I say that because I do know people who have lost weight doing absolutely NO cardio and only lifting weights/doing bodyweight training. It is possible. It's all about the calories.)

I did P90X and did get great results with muscle, but did not lose the stomach either. The cardio is really weak (Kenpo does not even get up my heart rate) I did not start to lose the gut until I really paid attention to my diet (say bye to junk food) and replaced the yoga day with running. I also started doing jumping jacks and jump rope during the rest periods of Kenpo to try to get better cardio. Those are just a few things I did to try to make the program burn a little more fat. I heard that P90X Plus has great cardio and I plan to start that after the half marathon I am training for.

Good luck!! And don't give up. At your young age you should be able to get amazing results.
