Sport How often do you weigh yourself?

Sport Fitness
I started out once a week, but then I found myself doing it a few times per week!

What do you guys think about this?

Pictures, clothes, mirror, measure. Throw out the scale if it becomes a constant thought. If you stress out about those numbers (which are just a small percent of the whole story), that stress can cause fat storage. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

About once or every second week now when my weight isnt in focus.

If your trying to loose weight I recomend you weigh every morning and then do week averages, you will get much more acurate numbers on your progress that way.

There is a scale at the gym i lift. So after every workout i weigh myself on that scale.

I do the same. I think they rig the scale at my gym to make you heavier though! I also weigh myself after wrestling which I have once a week right now.

monday mornings, after i take a leak and before i eat. Then i measure bf.
Unless you eat the exact same thing every day, there really isnt much point at all in weighing yourself in the middle of the day. When I am massing (high cal diet) I usually weigh in about 7-8 pounds more by the end of the day.

Maybe every 2-3 weeks. you cannot obsess over the scale people. too much salt on monday will make you hold a pound of extra water tuesday.

if you're a little backed up in the bowels, add a half pound there.

are you weighing in naked with dry hair (for the ladies)?

and what if you're adding lean muscle mass while shedding fat...you end up with a net zero weight change, but a body fat loss.

I'm with Joey here, weight without knowing bodyfat is almost useless. stick to a mirror and measurements around the upper arms, thighs, chest/bust, and waist/hips.

I weigh everyday, but only once a week do I record the results.

I also take a bio-impedence BF measurement a few times a week.

I haven't started taping yet, but I will soon.

I don't have calipers and scales aren't very helpful....i judge my progress by how my jeans fit. With it being summer right now, i only wear shorts. I wear jeans at most 1 or 2 times a week. So depending on how they fit, i know if i'm doing the right stuff at the gym the past week.:D

Umm... once every August haha, well and a lot during wrestling season. I couldn't care less what I weigh during the year, I prefer going on how I look in the mirror and how I feel about myself.

Rarely. So not to see the disappointment of bulking. Even when cutting I only weigh myself once a week max.

I think my scale is broken, if the harder i step on the right side, the less i weigh...thats not right. Take it from me, dont obsess over your weight, especially if you are cutting fat and doing a weight routine as well. If you just started its nto uncommon at all to be losing fat and still gaining weight from muscle.

I've been working out for over year. I've got to the point in cutting where I'm not putting any more muscle on (calorie deficit), I'm also measuring so I know if I'm losing muscle or not. Therefore, a drop in weight (<2lbs) is mainly fat loss as far as I'm concerned BUT that is ONLY because I know my own body. Each is his own, but when you've been working out for a while and keep track of things, you know what's what ;) I'm very goal-driven so simply looking in the mirror isn't enough for me, and without keeping track of things you could be wasting your time without even knowing. I guess it comes down to how committed you are. That's my view anyway.

I agree with this. but my first 2 months of working out, i literally freaked out because i was gaining weight. but it wasnt fat. but i didnt know, and my whole life, ive been trained to thinking that weight is everything.

My comment was more directed towards people who are new to training.

about two times per day
