How Much Sleep Does Your Body Need?

5 hours sleep+1000 mg caffeine

I'm pretty happy if I get 6 straight hours of sleep a night. I'd prefer 8, though, but that's my fault. I'm a night hawk, and once I get my second wind, it's tough to settle down and sleep.

agreed. im sometimes tired at 930. but then i feel awake, like right now its 1035. Im going to bed in 25 min though so I can get up at 5 and workout. Better go eat my cottage cheese, pudding, and cool whip :luxlove:

It definately depends on the person. I can make it on 6 hours, but my boyfriend is useless unless he gets at least 8 hours a night.

I function best at around 4-5 hours when my daily life isn't too stressful (heavy lift days, lots of cardio, pressure at work, finals for school, etc). When that stuff starts to take place I need around 6-8 hours and I'm good to go. Any more and I feel really sluggish, lazy and don't get much done no matter how hard I try.

I usually get anywhere from 4 hours to 8 hours depending on factors like if I have class/something to do that morning, the temperature outside the bed, how determined the cats are to claw me until feed them, and whether my fiance is there to give me snuggles. If I sleep longer than 9 hours though I find it makes me kind of groggy and lethargic all the next day. It took me awhile to figure out that too much sleep was the problem. I used to sleep untl noon or even 2pm, so I started forcing myself up at 8 and I livened right up! Also helps that I have skylights in the morning so the sun is good for perking me up. Waking up in a dark room makes me want to stay in bed all day, its so un-stimulating.

7-8 hours..

Normally the hours rate is between 7 to 8 hours of sleep.
There are people who sleep just for a few hours and feel very well and yes they are active also. Others sleep for 10 to even 15 hours and they feel very lazy, they have a bad mood!

So the problem is not in the number of hours.. it resides in the quality of the lifestyle. Stress, anxiety, depression...ect have a big negative impact on our health and on the way we sleep.

Coffee, soda, tea... also are very bad.

the body needs about 5 hours of solid sleep. It takes different amounts of time to get to that state for each person. Thats why some can function fine on 6 to 7 where as others need 8 or more.

If you start sleeping only 8 hours, after a while you might start sleeping better. You might just be a little bit tired but you can take an hour nap in the afternoon if it starts catching up to you.

it really depends on what u are going through,
during some stressful times i only sleep 30 mins a day (cause i dont have enough time)
sometimes 3 hours a day
and when i have nothing to do i sleep 10 hours a day

also ive noticed
if u sleep for 6 hours a day then u feel really energetic the next day (or maybe its just me)
but u need to get over the "tiring barrier" first lol

I went to sleep the other day at 2am and had to be at 7 for college. I felt abit ill in the day not sure if it was because I kept thinking I had only 5 hours sleep though. lol.

Also I hear that 15 mins of sleep in the day is = to 2 hours at night because off the way the world turns or something . I guess it cuz your body aint used to sleeping at that time of day or something.

As we have studied that we need 8 hrs of sleep when we are adult.but again when a person in his late 60s and 70s need more sleep. So its good if a adult tries to sleep 7-8 hrs.

i usually spend from six to seven hours sleeping
