How Much sleep do YOU get??

I'm 25 male. Honestly, I used to have insomnia when I was in the military, and ever since I got over it, my body doesn't wake up unless I get like 7-9 hours of sleep a night. It causes havok on my work schedule though, because I have LATE night band practice 3 times a week. Work understands though. They are really cool about it amazingly.

Recap:
25 male, 7-9 hours per night

did u work night shift in the military?

Wow, how perfect that this thread is here since I've been having sleep trouble.

I used to sleep literally 3-7 hours, it would change every night. I would go to sleep at like 4 am and wake up at 6:30/7am to do what I needed to do. I would do that for a few days straight then I would crash on a sleep-in day and sleep 7 hours (usually a Wednesday). This used to be my schedule....

The past month or so has been terrible :( I sleep 8 hour nights, which is fine but when you add in the fact that I've also been taking 2 hour naps in the middle of the day it becomes a problem. I also have trouble getting up early which is bad because I have to fit in riding. God, even my face feels tired most of the time! I blame this on a couple things:

1. I don't stay up as late because I'm not eating past a certain time (this is a good thing).

2. My hip/leg started hurting again (I broke my pelvis, injured knee half a year ago) throughout the whole day no matter what I'm doing, be it: working out, riding horses, walking, sitting, waitressing. It takes a lot out of me and makes simple tasks like running errands and cleaning my apartment seem like a big chore.

Hopefully my leg/hip will start to feel better soon and I'll be able to stop sleeping my life away!

So ah.....

20/female/recently 8-11 hours

I think have a problem, I sleep like 10 to 12 hours and still am tired, is that just from over doing it???

Yeah i think so. I have the same problem when i choose to sleep for 10 - 12 hours. My sister says it's because i "overslept"...take it for what it's worth.

Early twenties...usually 5 hours/night during the school year & it's been sporadic this summer..I've started to take naps at 7pm and wake up at 3am! Then again, I have lots of trouble falling asleep, too.

27 yrs old female, anywhere from 5-7hrs. I sleep no later than 7am, no matter what time I go to bed. I get up when I wake up, b/c if I go back to sleep, I wake up feeling groggy.

shellsy. You might want to check your diet. If your working out hard and not giving your body what it needs that could lead to excessive sleep. I see that with my sister after she works for 8 hours she eats 1 small meal and won't get up for 10 hours and says "I'm still tired".

they say 8 hours when your working out..

I'm 18 I get 3-4 hours a night.. thats if I sleep. I'll usually pull one of them "all nighters" and sleep the following night. Thats when I get my better sleeps.

I've been tested for insomnia and I do have a case. Sometimes its severe where I'll go 2 days without sleep.. sometimes its 26-30 hours. My doctor suggested pills.. go figure.. I refused to take pills to sleep. As you notice some of my posts are at 2am.. 5am.. 6-7 am.. in the same morning..

I usually get somewhere between 6 and 8 hours depending on what time I go to bed. Probably the same at weekends as my bodyclock always wakes me up at 6:30am

On days you work out do u require more sleep??

Hell yeah! I work 12-hour shifts 6:30pm - 6:30am and one mistake could cost the company $100,000s in missed shipments. But, that doesn't mean I get more, I usually get less.

i get about 7-8 hrs of sleep. the days i exercise i find that the next morning i could definitley sleep in longer, but i have to get up for work...lol

and on weekends i'd love to sleep longer but it's hard when the hubby gets up at 6 or 7am on saturday or sunday...ugh

With my new job I get about 8 hours a night now, I love not waking up to an alarm clock. Well the baby could be considered an alarm, but he wakes up at all different times.
