Because some people get concerned with goals or diets that could* be harmful, and dont answer based on getting some cred with a chick on the internet.


*could means could be, not are. I am making not assumptions on this persons diet, only some peoples postings. teehee

and for the fact a BMI under 18.5 is unhealthy not 20. AND she seems to exercise everyday a LOT so BMI isnt accurate. Also depends on body shape, i got no boob weight and that MUST count for something :p
In fact, all asian women are underweight by your standards and clearly they cant be! .. 1.5 billion chinese, korean and japanese women ar starving, lets go feed them!

I'd say that u shuld keep to 1200kcal and 500kcal exercise..(take a break once a week, add more another) BECAUSE! you also go to work, cook, clean, move about, go shop, daily life..

So that even a female office desk worker without exercise shuld burn about 1600 kcal? add 500 kcal from exercise and you got your 1k deficit =)

+1. People here need help and they deserve to be told the truth, not just "lol ur hot so don't wory bout it." That's not what she's asking, that doesn't help anyone.

Then she's completely misunderstood the concept of internet message boards. And Maleficent is contributing to this discussion and saying what needs to be said and not just acting like the shit for giving someone a link.

I agree with Edco that sometimes people set unrealistic goals for themselves (specially young girls) and I understand that other people might feel a bit cautious or even hesitant in helping or supporting someone who might not be doing the right thing. But that's not my case.

Well, that's exactly what it is. You jumped all over everyone and claimed everyone's judging you when all anyone said is 100 pounds is not a healthy weight. They're not judging, and they are helping, they're trying to make sure you don't damage yourself by loosing too much weight.

If you're just immediately going to shoot down everything anyone says, what's the point of asking for our help?

I might not be the most... umm what's the word... tactful person on the face of the earth... but this is a support forum.. and I strongly - passionately to a point - believe that a big portion of support for someone is pointing out where their ideas are misguided and pointing them towards a healthier goal... than just saying ok you can do it...

I'm not gonna do that... ever...
 
^^; familyweese: my point was just that all is relative. what your diet is as u grow up, your structure and genetics, the sports u do, if u have muscle or not, body shape... etc.. BMI is only a hmm guideline. You cant decide that ha you're above 25 so fat, some people look fine, strong bones, lots of muscle and vice versa.
Of course she should be careful not to become unhealthily thin. And I agree that if she does a lot of weights, her BMI would be higher than usual and thats exactly why it shouldnt be someone's ruler as to wether they're too big or small..

I'm not saying everyone's judging her or anything, I just wish people could say it a little softer .. disgustingly thin, etc.. probably wont make her change her mind or react positively!

What i suggest is: just see if you're happy with ur body, it's yours and only yours. If you are unsure, go see a professional. He can get you a full check and help you. Post some pics when you're happy so everyone here can stop worrying!

=) and there are nicer ways to tell people than to discard them as useless or pointless or comments got nothing to do. Sorry i couldnt explain properly, was just popping a post during lunch time.
 
First of all, thanks Matthigh31 for the link. Second, you're not judging me, but other people are. We are all on the same boat here, regardless of what our end goal is. I thought people joined forums like this to support each other, not to bash or even insult someone.

What can I say? Haters just make me stronger!

And Dear Shep03, I promise you to make it a point to post a picture of myself in a bikini when I reach my "disgustingly thin" goal weight.

P.S. I wonder why the bashing never comes from guys who have great bodies and are in great shape?

apparently it was me. i say whatever comes to mind and am too honest for my own good. most people don't enjoy it. it's ok, i'm used to it by now.
 
hey blondissima... i too have been facing a lot of shi*t in some threads where i dared to mention my goal weight which was slightly lower than people's perception of normal. but i do know what you mean, just like i know that my goal weight is where i was happiest some years back. a number is seriously just a number, and only your body knows what the best number for you is.

however, to get to the point, to lose 2lbs a week its best to cut 500 calories and burn another 500. since BMR only gives you a rough idea, its best to ACTUALLY track how many calories you eat in a week to find out how many you need to eat to lose weight. ive never been able to do this, because i just get too impatient, but people swear bu this method. :D
