House

that house is really really lovely - I can see why frank and bob like the rafters...

the property is amazing...

andi want to cook in the fireplace... nice pot of stew... :D

Thanks everyone. :)

The house is in Chester County, PA.

The door that you can see in the one stone wall isn't a cellar way. It's actually the original well. There are homes in the area that have secret hideaways in the basements from the underground railroad days... but this place doesn't.

The house was originally a toll house. The guy who lived here a few hundred years ago would charge people to cross the bridge that is no longer there. My driveway was actually a dirt road used for horse travel.

I plan on doing some research when I have the time.

That is a PA house I would of never guessed honeslty!

Any friendly spirits roaming the house or property?

any unexplained bumps in the night, Frank and Bob freakouts, strange smells, or hairon the neck prickles? :D

House like that would be so cool to have ghosts... just be friendly to them :D

Gordy keeps trying to sell me on the idea the house is haunted. We can see a cemetary from the house. I have relatives buried in it, actually one who I was named after.

So far I haven't had any 'experiences' though.

I was scared shitless once, and that's when I was walking out to the woodshop when it was pitch black out and a herd of deer almost trampled me.

.
they're scared of you... :)

I like gordy... he's cool :)

Wow nice house Steve, thats really cool in an ancient kinda way.
I love the look of old houses, i think they have soo much character. But everytime i look at a new house i always go back to the modern ones (less maintaince, drafts, etc). I think the main thing is i just like the 'new' feeling. But looks wise all the older homes look the best :)

Oh, i notice your cat manages to sneak into more than a couple of pics :)

Everyone else has said it already, but that is a very nice house, looks like a great area too.

I lived in Detroit until I was about 11 and then moved to a rural area in New York with my parents. I loved living in a more secluded area after growing up in the suburbs, and I can only hope that once I get a house of my own it's somewhere in between what my parents have (two acres, most of it is woods) and the place you're at.

Yea, I really wrestled with the idea of buying new. For the money I spend I could of had all the modern amenities and whatnot. At the end of the day though, the looks and feel of this house sold me. And the idea of being landlocked so no developments can sprawl up around me was really enticing.

I know what you mean though.

Thanks Liz

I was gonna say...is their bodies buried in the basement? That house looks like it has seen a few lifetimes already...maybe a few ghoulies lurking around in the dark places!! I love all the stone work and that shop is ridiculous. Are those all your tools? What the heck are you planning on building?
