House

Okay, so a number of people have been asking to see pictures of my new house in my journal. I by no means am posting them out here in the Off Topic forum expecting others to be interested. It's simply the only forum (that I know of) that allows you to embed pictures.

I didn't take pics of everything because a) I'm sick and b) It would be boring.

*NOTE - We have yet to purchase a lot of the furniture that will be in the house and nothing is hung where it is supposed to be... we haven't gotten to it yet.

The third floor of the house is simply 2 bedrooms, an office and a bathroom.

The office is pretty cool b/c the previous owners built the desk and bookshelf (which I forgot to take a picture of) into the wall. Here's the desk:

Here's the third floor hallway:

Here's a cool little window that overlooks the stream and woods in the stairwell going up to the third floor:

Said stairwell is pretty treacherous. It's off limits if I've been drinking, lol:

The second floor is a living room, the master bedroom, and a bathroom. These rooms are all big.

The living room looks like this:

Then the hallway going over to the master bed is pretty cool b/c there's a lot of original stone:

The master bedroom looks like this... it's a high room so it was hard to get adequate pics:

Then the stairwell going down to the first floor (where the dining room and kitchen is is pretty cool too b/c of all the exposed stone. There's even a giant stone missing from the wall where we put a candle:

Those stairs lead down to the dining room, which is completely unfurnished at the moment. It's a neat room with brick floors, a big bay window looking over the stream and a huge fireplace:

Then the dining room leads to the kitchen:

The fireplace in the kitchen is by far the coolest in the house. It has the original cast iron swing arm for hanging a kettle pot on and swinging it over the fire to cook:

Here's a picture of the barn and woodshop (which I'm planning on putting a gym in):

This is a small pond with a waterfall (that's not hooked up at the moment) that has some coy swimming around:

Since I'm bringing you an episode of cribs, lol, here's my whips:

This is the trail that wraps up through the woods along the stream leading to a hill with a cliff overlooking the stream. I love it b/c it leads to a bench. It's so peaceful up there with a great view. It's my reading bench:

You must love it there! Just from the pictures you can see how much character and charm, and history I'm sure, the home has. Great veiws too. Congrats, it's very nice.

Thanks very much and I do love it here. I don't see myself ever getting rid of it, that's for sure.

I have that table and chairs :) looks just like mine..

hey i haven't been home in 3 weeks -maybe it is mine..
gorgeous place there dude

Wow, that is one beautiful place. The house, the scenery. The only thing is I think you need to call an exorcist, because your cat(s) is/are clearly possessed ;)

DOPE!!!!!!!!! :eek2:

Damn, you make me want to show off MY house (which, heh heh, is actually Barre's house ;)) Congrats man, you are the SHIT for landing this with an awesome wife! :hurray:

WOW your house is AWESOME!!! This looks like something Norm Abrams would have worked on in an episode of 'This Old House' or whatever his show was named. Freaking cool! I have total workshop envy.

Congratulations on such a spectacular home.

I wondered the same... for different reasons I'm sure... I saw in the one photo of what I assume to be the "back" of the house, that in the stone retaining wall, there appears to be a cellar door, or something. I know a family from western New York, that lived in a "period" house, such as yours, and they had an outdoor cellar that was actually connected to the house with a secret tunnel... it was an actual stop on the on the underground railroad... Just got me curious.

wow..it's such a beautiful and charming home. It's exactly the type of home I've always wanted. I have a weakness for exposed brick. And it looks so peaceful there, my dog would have a blast! Congrats!! :D

WOW! That's a big slab of heaven going on there, Steve. It's absolutely beautiful. The house, the land, the woods, the water. Gorgeous.

But that staircase would give me nightmares! I'd rather cut a hole in the second floor and climb up a rope to get upstairs :D
