I am very sorry about what you've been experiencing in your life. How have you been recently? I hope you're doing well.
I know it's hard to be compared to someone almost all the time. Because people don't realize what you truly feel whenever they say things about you that seems just a simple statement or joke for them. I remember the time when I was in high school and used to be bullied, being called pig and overweight, etc. That was the time I got really depressed about myself and don't know what to do anymore to lose some weight and change myself.
I've got to college, and things started to change when I've learned how to really focus on myself not on the what the others might say and think about who I am. I focused on eating a balanced diet and stopped comparing myself to the others. I focused on better outcomes.
Here are my tips for you:
- First, restricting food choices as to what you're 'allowed' to eat can actually lead to a binge. It's important to eat a balanced diet and recognize that all foods can fit into a healthy diet (given food allergies and dislikes). Telling yourself "I'm not allowed to eat x" will only make you want it more. Instead, look for sustainable realistic changes that fit into your lifestyle, and take some time to learn how to plan meals that will give your body the nutrients it needs. This may be a major mindset shift, especially if you've spent years forcing your lifestyle to adapt to whatever diet you were on.
- Second, pay attention, using all of your senses, to choose food that is both satisfying and nourishing to your body.
- And lastly, you need to think about fitness as the outcome, not the goal. I recommend finding movement that is fun, meditative, or social and avoid competitive exercise regimens since comparing your abilities to others often leads to despair. Planning three to four days a week on your calendar where you are focusing on 'bettering your body and energy'. If you are tired, take a yoga class instead of cardio. "Flip your attention to how exercise energizes your body and helps you do the things you enjoy."
Please, always choose healthy ways to lose weight, stick to all natural ways, recipes, methods. Always look for healthier ways to lose weight.
As of your water intake, I also recommend monitoring your intake every day.
Many studies show that drinking more water may benefit weight loss and maintenance
These are just some of my tips for you as I don't really want to eat your time reading longer replies! I hope this could help.
Stay strong and well.
Love love,
- Felina
