Heroes

Anyone else think Heroes is starting to get just a little bit too predictable and silly? I've seen the opening double episode of season 3 (we're a bit behind over here) and it seems like the series is falling into the trap the so many US series get caught up in of trying to do these spectacular things every episode at the expense of story telling, the plot and continuity, just to keep the interest of the corn dog munching idiots with no attention span and inability to follow a complex plot. Remember Carnivàle and Twin Peaks? Both suffered at the hands of the US viewing masses who couldn't follow anything more complicated than 24

The time travelling? That was getting silly so we've now had this painfully long and weakly explained 'butterfly effect' episode to try and stop fans from constantly thinking 'why doesn't he just go back in time 60 seconds and stop that from happening?' like Sylar's attack on Claire, or even going back to before Sylar had any power and killing him then

And the ending, with Mrs Pattrelli (sp?) telling Sylar that she's his mum? That's the kind of **** I'd expect on a chick's program like Ugly Betty or Dallas

also, WTF...suddenly Packman can paint the future too as long as he eats some African peyote and listens to Grateful Dead (or whatever Africa man has on his walkman)? That was a stretch for me...

If ever I could paint the future, it'd be while drinking Peyote :D

The show is crazy! Papa Petrelli and his band of villains... I dont understand why they make Peter so dumb, Ill just go rush into the building by myself, lose my powers after I just figured out how to use them. If he doesnt get his powers back somehow, then hes sort of worthless to the show now.

Sylar is the man, but since hes trying to be good, it seems he wont acquire any more abilities.

Sylar is pretty badass. I was kind of looking forward to seeing Peter degenerate into a villian after taking Sylar's "hunger". Just like how I am looking forward to seeing Suresh become a monster.

What an entertaining thread! :)

Couldn't sleep, having some intense pain so started reading & found this. :yelrotflmao: I am laughing so much I forgot my leg (for a while)

I used to just LOVE Heroes when no one seemed to know about it & I was the only one in my immediate grp that was bonkers about some crazy show. I just adored Hiro, thought he was cuter than a button (whatever that means.) Now he almost seems as stupid acting as Peter (& in real life he is suppposed to have a very high IQ) It all was so new & exciting in the 1st couple of seasons, it never bored me. I taped every show I coudn't watch. Sylar was fascinating, as well as the two sides of the evil:devil:/loving:cheeky: dad. They really nailed the archetype of flaws in evey persona. BTW, what happened to Sylar's *hunger* now that he is trying to be a good boy?? I never could figure out what Mrs. Pretrelli had to do w/ everything, but you knew future episodes where going to reveal more things about her. Although the reversal of roles has been entertaining, I have to agree w/Typhon in post #42, & I've gotten tired of it now. :drooling1: I sincerely hope it gets better!

Since I never got to see or even know about Lost when it first came out, I am hooked by that show now! It's on the same time as Heroes
so I flip over to it on commercials & can tell what's going on, especially if I watch parts of it on the Heroes' web site.

I don't have Showtime, but really got into Californication when it was on for free. Don't have the budget for that until I make some changes. I peeked at Smallville last Mon. & the time for the birth of Superman has come, I believe. The development of that character will probably be for the rest of this season.

Loved House until I got bored by it being on EVERY DAY, sometimes all day long (like some other nameless shows I am sick of.) I am just starting to get a kick out of Fringe & Eleventh Hour, I'll have to watch more before I pass judgment, however, & see how silly they get.

"but parkman didnt start painting anything. his eyes just went white"

P.S. Remember when Parkman did paint over the already painted scenes on the huge boulders after he found that guy that knew him & encouraged him to *spirit walk* when he was somehow transported to Africa? He supposedly painted changes in what is happening in the series.

P.P.S. Hmmmm~the idea of using peyote to paint the future~

Just found this thread, i love hereos, got all the seasons on dvd and cant get enough of it, the only thing i dont like about it is that i have to wait a week to find out what happens next.

so now its gonna be weird that they dont have powers after the eclipse. i dont know how that will play out since the show is about having powers.

how long will it be before they get them back? will Peter get his back? If the end of this episode is the teams, then Papa Petrelli is gonna whoop some ass. There isnt anyone on the other side who can do much, except Matt.

I think Heroes always intended on telling the story of a few people at a time, and switching cast members in and out. With people now losing their powers, new people's powers will manifest.

Sylar is the best.
