HELP - Finally Serious

Update: Down to 176.5 and just had my first cheat day in a while. I still maintained only 2000 calories on my cheat day so I was happy about that.

I've been slacking a little with my exercise recently which i'm very disappointed in myself for doing. I am even more motivated now to lose more weight after dropping my exercise down to twice a week. I'm now bumping it back to 5 days a week and will probably start losing weight like a madman once again.

Starting weight: 213 pounds - Current Weight 176.5 pounds

Total weight loss to date is 37 pounds.

Goal weight is 154.

I'm hoping to reach my goal within 3 months.

Looking great! And I know what you mean about going out a lot, I eat on campus a lot and I really don't know how many calories I'm getting then. I make a guess, but I could be way off. I just eat light for the rest of the day in case I'm under counting it.

Another update guys!

I'm down to 168!

Starting weight 213 now down to 168, total weight loss = 45lbs.

Goal weight 154, Second set goal was 145, but that is after I reach my first goal. :willy_nilly:

but if one chicken breast is 120, a potato 110, and broccoli 80, I can easily guesstimate that I've eaten at least 350 cals. You see?

While you're generally correct I think you are missing out on a lot of calories due to butter and oil. Unless you're sure they steam the veggies and cook the meat without oil then I'd factor in more cals.
Restaurants want their stuff to taste good. Fat tastes good... never underestimate their ability to hide it in meals that otherwise sound healthy.

I really love a green salad...but unless you can eat it w/o dressing, it's not really a low cal choice. Ceasar salad is also one of my favs...but it's not low cal. I see so many references to eating a salad instead of high calorie options...but unless you're eating your salad with fat free dressing (and most of them suck) salads aren't really low cal.

Grilled lean meat, steamed veggies, potatoes with fat free sour cream and salsa topping....yum...That's my idea of a low cal meal. :)

Update again! Sadly I stopped my plan for over a month.

I was eating VERY poorly and binging terribly. I was a low of 167 a few months ago and hit my high of 173.5 after cheating for over a month.

I let my body catch up with all my eating and lost all the weight in just 2 days just by going back to 1600-1800 calories a day.

I'm was at 168 this morning and was in shock.

Anyways I guarantee i'm going to be at 154 shortly because I know I can do this.

I'll keep you all updated!

-Jeff
