I have no idea why it seems to be her call...at what point did I lose my balls in this marriage? Oh yeah, when that dude said "do you take this woman to be your lawfully married wife until death do you part"?

I love big dogs, but some how I wound up with a 12pounder thanks to my wife.......

good luck with Bloo!

SBL, how are things?

Ughh....nothing happened. My wife met Bloo and couldn't get past the pit-mix. Bloo had an odor to his coat, his breath was bad and my wife just didn't feel comfortable with him.

I know we could wash him down really good and his breath was probably related to all his panting because he was excited...but again, the issue with the pit mix. I think my wife could get past that, but there'd be issues with people who come to visit us.

Also, our other dog seems to be getting much better with coming to me and being friendly. I'm really asking myself if having 2 dogs is a good idea. When we go to Arrowhead it's 2 dogs in the car. Twice the poop outside, twice the dog food, possible issues with one dog eating the others food. Twice the dog under foot around the house, etc. Some people say you'll not take your dogs as many places because you have two of them. It's tough, I'm just not sure what to do.

The lady who has Bloo said we can take him for a week and at his age, 5 years, it's not like it would traumatize him. I'd kinda like to try that...but I'm still hesitant to move on it. Just don't know...

Any thoughts about having one dog vs. two?

I think two dogs is a good idea, you will get used to travel and such. When we first got Jake, he was a terrible dog. I truely believe that if we had never gotten Ellwood, we could not have kept Jake. Together, they balance each other out and are much much happier for having each other. I think they are a little easier to maintain for having each other.

I really liked Scotty, I didn't read the whole thread, so I'm not sure if you're still in the running of chosing which of the three dogs, but none the less.

Sorry things aren’t working out. You have to go with the wife I'm afraid. It’s not worth it if another family member feels uncomfortable.

I do agree with Western sky, two dogs can play and exercise each other. A big fenced in yard or just loads of open land helps.

Keep looking, something will come up that the whole family can enjoy.

I’ve been looking at a few lab/boxer mix pups for myself
