Hello, New here need some advice ASAP

Good Point Ned--seems like just the point I was making...

Everyone is unique so that is why I would stress the bodyfat % more than a specific weight. But with some math you can figure out what that weight will be. Looks like another example to prove our point is Novak Djokovic 6'2" 176.

These elite althetes may be around 5% bodyfat?? not sure, but I get your point--which was mine as well--everyone is unique. Although I said it "seems" like all skeleton--that is not necessarily the case as these two examples show.

now 6'2" 165 does seem like all skeleton to me with little room for muscle--but then again we are all unique.

Another "unique" example Chuck Liddell 6'2" 205 --but allot more muscle than your average guy.

TX, generally speaking soccer stars won't be aiming for ultra-low body fat. It's a contact sport and they need a degree of fat to protect against injuries - there's no body armour in soccer. What they aim for is strength, agility, and huge reserves of stamina for non-stop play.

The requirements for top tennis players will not be disimilar: massive upper and lower body strength and the stamina to play for many hours. Worth noting that these truely fit men look nothing like the characters in the body-building mags or in the ads selling steroids. :)

I gather Chuck Liddell is a martial arts fighter and I'd assume his requirements would be slightly different. Extra weight is likely to be an advantage and he presumably doesn't need quite the same levels of stamina required in some other sports.

I'm 6'2" and aiming for 180 lb initially but will probably go below that. If it's OK for Ruud Van Nistelrooy, it's OK for me - though reaching his levels of fitness might be just a little beyond me. :)

:iagree:

I know those guys are just getting more and more ridiculous! The covers of Mens Health seems to be much better in realistic pictures of "fit men" than any body-building mag.

Try going all out for five, five minutes rounds, my friend, and see just how much stamina is required. :puke:

Granted, not too many fights last that long, but you have to be prepare for that eventuality. ;)

Back to the Weight Loss

Sorry I am coming so late, but I am impressed with all the info gathered already. I totally agree with the rest, that 600kcal are not enough in a day. You run into the problem that your body does not get enough vitamins and minerals. Unless you have done this for a long time now, you should be feeling pretty much out of energy.
Try to add some calories gradually and watch how your weight loss reacts to it. You might actually end up still losing weight but feeling better, because you have more energy to fuel your exercises. Definitely keep up exercising. You will build more muscles and your body will look like a lot more.
What I would suggest is to do some weight training. Increasing ones muscle tone lifts self-confidence. Just the right thing to have for prom.
I am sure you will get it done. Keep at it.

Thanks for the advice Alexa! May I ask though, how did you know it was for prom? :smilielol5: You're right on the spot. Anyways, you are right about that diet. Its just that I was a bit paranoid about losing weight (still am) and feared that I would cheat myself otherwise. But I am doing a 1000 cal diet now. As for the muscle building, dont you reccomend that I wait until after I lose my weight? As I am afraid that it could stop me from losing weight, by adding muscle. I could be wrong, of course. Oh, and the other thing is that I dont have access to an weights. (lol). I guess my prom date will have to be satisfied with a lean body. Muscle will be gained later for college. (Lot of expectation there...if you know what I mean) But once again, thank you so much for your advice. It wasn't late. I have an additional question for you though; when do you start noticing the weight loss aesthetically? I asked cams this as well, but I wanted more opinions. Thank you.

Noticing Weight Loss

I am glad you eating more again. How is that going, are you still losing weight? As much as to noticing your weight loss, I would say that about every 10lbs you drop a clothes size. Now, this is a very general rule of thumb, but might just be what you needed.
Now to the muscle building. It is true that your weight loss can stall a little when you start to lift those weights. However, some definition can look even better than just being real thin. You know what I mean? Most girls love some arms, wide shoulders and don't forget the butt. I am not saying work out like crazy. Also, you said you didn't have any weights. Try do some push ups every day and it will help with the shoulders and arms. It is not a lot, start slowly.

I bet you are doing great.
